Kevin has shared another blog that you may enjoy (link in comments)
"As a Black male therapist, I know some clients have never sat across from someone like me in this role. In training spaces, I am often the only male voice. Sometimes the only Black voice. Sometimes both.
There is pride in that.
There is weight in that.
What I am learning is simple. The room may change. The expectations may shift. The people in front of me may differ. The chair asks the same thing every time.
Show up steady.
Listen deeply.
Do the work.
Internship is teaching me that therapy is not about mastering the room. It is about holding it well."
