Every day, thousands of people living with mental illness encounter the criminal justice system — often because they were unable to access treatment and support when they needed it most.

During National Criminal Justice Month, NAMI Greater Indianapolis is helping raise awareness about the intersection of mental health and the justice system and the importance of diversion, treatment, and community support. The system can often be daunting, confusing, and overwhelming. NAMI National has developed a navigation guide to help anyone affected or involved in the criminal justice system.

Global events and rising tensions around the world can be difficult to watch, especially for Veterans, Service Members, and their families. News about international conflict or military activity can bring up stress, memories from past deployments, or concern for those currently serving. For many who have worn the uniform and their families, these moments can reopen difficult emotions or reminders of their own experiences.

If you are feeling that weight, you are not alone.

At NAMI Greater Indianapolis, our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families through support, education, and advocacy. That commitment includes making sure Veterans and their families know there is a place in our community where they can find understanding, connection, and support.

💙 Calling HR professionals who want to do more than advise from the sidelines 💙

NAMI Greater Indianapolis is seeking an HR professional to join our Board of Directors — someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and actively help us do the work.

We’re a hands-on, working board supporting a growing organization focused on improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. This role goes beyond strategy and oversight. It includes contributing time, expertise, and energy to help strengthen our people practices, policies, and programs.

This might be a great fit if you enjoy:
• Building or improving policies and processes
• Partnering closely with a mission-driven team
• Contributing your HR expertise in a practical, meaningful way
• Supporting mental health advocacy beyond your day job
• Being part of a collaborative, engaged board

This is a volunteer board role, but the impact is real and deeply needed.
