Ever get that deep, hard-to-pinpoint ache in the front of your shoulder that you just can’t press on or quite figure out? You’re not alone. A lot of people—from desk workers to active gym-goers—deal with shoulder pain caused by irritated rotator cuff muscles, especially the infraspinatus.

One simple thing you can try at home is using a lacrosse ball against a sturdy door to gently roll across those tight areas. It’s a great way to calm down irritated muscle tissue and start easing that stubborn tension.

If you’ve been rolling for a few days and the pain keeps coming back, it may be a sign that something deeper—like a movement imbalance—is still stressing the shoulder. In that case, we’re always here to help you figure out what’s really going on and get that shoulder working the way it should again.

Move better, feel better, live better. 💪

Tendinitis vs Tendinopathy vs Tendinosis

Inflamed or degenerated? Let’s clear things up.

Some physicians and patients use the term tendinitis for every tendon pain - But not every painful tendon is inflamed.

Truth:
🔹Tendinitis- short term inflammation (acute pain, swelling and warmth).
🔹Tendinosis- degeneration of collagen due to overuse of (chronic, dull pain)
🔹Tendinopathy- an umbrella term including both stages

Treatment depends on the phase of healing:
🔹Acute = rest + ice
🔹Chronic = controlled loading + eccentric strengthening
🔹Load heals tendons but only the right kind of loading.

Stability test!

If you want to know how well your body works together, try out the lunge with a furniture slider under the mobile foot. You’ll feel a great stretch within the groin and hamstrings of the extended leg while the loaded leg feels an engagement in the glute, quad and ankle tissue. Shown above is a fine example of stability and quality of balanced structural capacity through the loaded lunge. If you think you have this movement in the bag, throw a foam pad under the loaded leg for increased challenge of balance and intrinsic foot tissue control.

Book now with IHS for an evaluation of your mobility and stability today!

Outer knee pain that just won’t go away? It might not actually start in your knee. Tight hips or stiff feet can throw off your movement and cause your knees to take the hit. 🦵

Your body works as one connected chain; if one link is tight or weak, another has to compensate. That’s why improving hip and foot mobility can make a huge difference in relieving lateral knee pain.

✅ Focus on hip mobility
✅ Improve ankle strength
✅ Support your arches if needed

Don’t just treat the symptoms, find the cause. 💪
