GLP-1 medications are being prescribed in healthcare systems that rarely screen for eating disorders, even though more than 90% of people with EDs are not underweight.

👉🏼That means many people struggling with restriction, binge-restrict cycles, food preoccupation, or body image distress may be labeled “good candidates” without a full picture of risk.

The eating disorder community cannot be an afterthought in the GLP-1 conversation.

We need:

• routine ED screening before prescribing
•how food noise language can mask disordered eating symptoms
• recognition that EDs happen in bodies of all sizes
• real informed consent — not just marketing language

🗣️ This isn’t about whether these medications should exist.

It’s about whether people are being properly assessed and protected. 🫶🏻

🎙️ We break this down in this week’s episode of Stop, Collaborate, and Listen.

🎶 We’re super excited to introduce a new offering here at CCN — a 12-week music therapy support group focused on body image and fat liberation, led by music therapist Wren Buse.

🎼This group blends music, reflection, embodiment, and community to support people who want to explore their relationship with their body in a different way — especially if traditional talk therapy hasn’t always felt like the right fit.

🎹No musical experience needed. Just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to explore.

Uncomfortable doesn’t always mean unsafe. 🤍

✨In this conversation with Lauren Harding, LCSW, we explore how OCD and eating disorders overlap, why intrusive thoughts don’t disappear in recovery, and how exposure, nutrition, and curiosity work together in real treatment.

Whole grains are not the villain.
🌾They never were.

In our newest podcast episode, we talk about how the new dietary guidelines (and the way they’re being marketed) are quietly reinforcing fear around carbohydrates, especially for folks already vulnerable to rigid food rules.

🤪Meanwhile:
• most of us don’t get enough fiber
• protein is already everywhere
• and carbs are still essential for brain, gut, and recovery health

This post is your gentle reminder that:
đź’›balance > macros
đź’›nuance > fear

This time of year asks a lot of us.
To reset. To optimize. To be different than we were.

🎧This playlist offers a different invitation:
to pause, to feel, to listen — without needing to improve or perform.

✨Curated by our music therapist Wren, this collection centers self-worth and embodiment, creating space for whatever shows up rather than pushing it away.

🎵Wren is also leading an upcoming music therapy support group for anyone wanting to explore this work more deeply. Details, playlist, and group info are on the blog.

🔎 When bodies are shrinking, our focus shouldn’t be on who - it should be on why.

Undereating doesn’t just affect the body. It impacts mood, anxiety, critical thinking, and our ability to see the bigger picture. 🌎

When we’re dysregulated, it’s easier to turn on each other — and harder to challenge the systems that benefit from that distraction.

This conversation is part of our Season 1 finale: Ep 21: The Body Backlash: What Hollywood’s Emaciation Trend Really Signals.
