Congratulations Tarence Craft, Culinary Aide/Preceptor, American Village Lincoln Lodge's Quest for Excellence winner for 2025! We are looking forward to honoring this year's outstanding Quest Winners at the banquet on November 13 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.

We’re extremely excited to celebrate Tarence Craft as our 2025 Quest for Excellence recipient! Tarence is known throughout Lincoln Lodge for being kind, hardworking, and genuinely dedicated to both residents and coworkers. He brings positive energy with him every day, putting smiles on everyone’s faces and making sure those around him feel supported and cared for in so many ways.

Tarence is always willing to help, no matter what the department. He shows up on time, steps in whenever needed, and works alongside others to ensure no one is left behind. He leads by example—with a strong work ethic, gentle leadership, and always genuine kindness. Tarence is the meaning of the term ‘team player’ and is most certainly a resident favorite!

His love for the residents is clear in everything he does and is at the core of his never-ending motivation. He goes the extra mile to help create a fun, caring, and uplifting environment for everyone at Lincoln Lodge.

Tarence is not just a good coworker; he’s a great one! And as a preceptor, he has shown to be a valued teacher and leader in every sense of the word, providing dedicated support to those around him.

Congratulations Charles Hancock, Nurse Schedule Coordinator, American Village's Quest for Excellence winner for 2025! We are looking forward to honoring this year's outstanding Quest Winners at the banquet on November 13 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.

When it comes to keeping our community running smoothly, there is one person who knows exactly where everyone needs to be and when. Charles “Chuck” Hancock joined the American Village team 3 years ago as our nurse scheduler. He jumped right in with humor and a heart for service, building relationships that earned him respect and admiration from staff and leadership.

Chuck came to us with 27 years of experience as a scheduler. When he was 18, he took care of his grandmother after her hip surgery, which sparked his interest in nursing. He signed up for a CNA class soon after and then went on to become a QMA. He has spent the last 36 years serving older adults. In his free time, Chuck enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 sons. He loves to go to drive-in movies and enjoys traveling.

Chuck somehow manages to juggle vacation requests, call-ins and shift swaps all while keeping us within our budgeted ppd and out of agency. As a co-worker, he makes us laugh, jumps in where needed and takes phone calls at all hours of the day or night. Our nurse managers can’t imagine being on call without him, claiming “He is hands down the best scheduler I have ever worked with!”

Congratulations, Chuck, on this well-deserved recognition!

Treats By the Tableful Fun! 🍬

Our Treats By the Tableful event was fantastic!

We loved seeing so many residents and their little guests dressed up for our trick-or-treating stroll. A huge shout-out to our staff for their amazing table decorations and for handing out so many wonderful treats!

It was the perfect blend of cute and spooky community fun. We're already looking forward to doing it again next year! Happy Halloween!

It's become an annual Halloween tradition at American Village to make edible spiders! We use Halloween cupcakes for the body, chocolate Twinkies for the head, licorice wands as legs, and candy eyes glued on with red gel icing. Put them all together and you have a spider! They have as much fun building them as they do eating them! Happy Halloween!

We had a wonderful group of student volunteers come to American Village to help residents with a Halloween craft! They assisted Harrison Hall residents with making these fun tulle wreaths for their doors. Everyone had a blast putting them together, choosing what type of ribbon they wanted for the bow, and then hanging them up! Sending out a huge THANK YOU to our volunteers! They did a great job, don't you think?
