We all have slipped, tripped and fallen many times in our lives. And it’s going to happen again and again when we least expect it. The trouble is as we get older our bones can break more easily as we hit the ground.
In my early twenties I worked at the Glacier Falls Ice Arena in Anaheim, Ca. where I met Al Thal. Al Thal was the doorman at the ice rink. Along with many others that worked and skated there, over the years we became good friends.
Years following his retirement at age 72 (the age I am now) Al Thal slipped on his kitchen floor breaking the upper portion of one of his femur bones.
From that point on (as he recovered) he needed a cane to get around and eventually led to his requiring a wheelchair.
So be careful out there everyone. And that goes for me too!
