Today is a BIG DAY! My heart skips a best every time I start to think about the future. More people that I could ever remember and a lot of hard work have made this possible. I am quite literally about to fulfill a lifelong dream. I could have let the setbacks, the long hours, the negative self-talk, the haters, the doubt, the million other excuses get in the way, but I didn’t. I held on, because of all of you. 💓

I started out so fired about making this dream come true, but after four years, I’ll be honest, it started to slip away. Then, out of no where I was running into people I met all those years ago and they asked me about the van, if I ever took that trip. Well, I’ve had since November 2019 and I’m elated to share that I leave for the Midwest TODAY! 🚐

Thank you to the countless generous, encouraging and kind souls that have helped me get to this place. A place I know wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for each of you. I now get to travel full-time, work for myself and help to empower others to light up their own lives! 🤸🏼‍♀️

It’s been an adventure to get here, but I know it’s only just begun. There will be ups and downs, but I honestly can’t wait for it all! I know I’ll never wonder what if. 🏔

Now that the van is done, apartment is empty (almost 😅) and I’m about to hit the road, my focus will shift towards finishing my signature Live Your Yoga course. Stay tuned for all of the adventure and amazing things to come! 🥳

I had a client reach out to me the other day stressed and confused. She’s taking BIG steps on her journey. She’s made the plans, put forth the effort, but is being met with resistance that’s causing the plan to have to shift. She knew what her options were, but wasn’t sure which was right. She felt lost and didn’t know which way to go. The following day, a friend reached out with a similar situation. The details were different, but the emotions were the same. It’s the same case with my road trip, things are constantly evolving.

My advice was to try to flip the perspective. Conceptualize these challenges as either an opportunity to slow down and be patient OR it’s the universe testing you to see how bad you really want it. I told them to do what I always do, write down a pro’s and con’s list. It takes out the emotion and allows you to see almost plain as day which is the best choice. Then, sit with what it would FEEL like with each potential outcome.

Either way, “Whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.”

The story behind how I connected with Rachel was serendipity at its’ finest. Talking to her for the first time was like reconnecting with an old friend. Conversation flowed with ease from one topic to the next as if we were picking up right from where we left off. Reading Human Design charts are a part of the Inner Child Healing Coaching Rachel offers. This is very valuable work to help us let go of our past beliefs and replace them with new empowering ones. If I hadn’t gained the confidence I have through my yoga practice, I would never have trusted myself enough to leave my high paying restaurant job to try to work for myself full time. I would still be wasting my gifts and stuck doing something that didn’t fulfill me. Now, because I decided to go for it, live my yoga, I get to work with incredible people that align with my morals and value what I do. 🤸🏼‍♀️🙏🏼✨

I don’t have it all figured out. I never have and I never will. If I ever say I do, someone check me real quick! As soon as I clean up one aspect of my life, another falls out of alignment. That’s what I believe life is all about. Beginning again, over and over. ✨

That’s what I tell my students. There’s never going to be a perfect time to take that trip, sign-up at that studio or hire that coach. You’ll continue to let life get in the way. You’ll make excuses and eventually forget altogether. Until one day months, maybe years down the road, something will remind you of that dream or that goal. Regret is going to hit you like a truck and you’re gonna wish you would’ve went for it. 💓

You have to trust your gut, do the work and go for it. Each time it gets easier and you fall back into alignment quicker. Trust that it will all work out, because… because in the end, it always does. 🙏🏼

If you watch my stories last week, you saw I was interviewed for my first podcast. What you don’t know is that I felt like I was going to have a panic attack ten minutes before it began. How did I pull it together you ask?

Welcome to Nadi Shodhana Pranayama aka alternate nostril breathing! Struggle with stress & anxiety? Try this!

✨ Find a comfortable seat, preferably somewhere quiet, and close your eyes. Take several deep, full body breaths.
✨ Fold the tips of the index and middle fingers inward until they touch the palm at the base of the right thumb or bring the index and middle fingers to the center of your forehead. You will use the right thumb to close the right nostril and the right ring finger to close the left nostril.
✨ Take a deep breath in, use the right thumb to close the right nostril. Exhale gently, through the left nostril. Keep the right nostril closed, inhale through the left nostril.
✨ Next, use the ring finger to gently close the left nostril and release the right nostril. Exhale through the right nostril. Pause gently at the bottom of the exhale. Keep the left nostril closed, inhale through the right nostril.
✨ This completes one round of nadi shodhana: exhale through the left, inhale through the left, then exhale through the right and inhale through the right.
✨ Repeat this pattern for several more rounds. Keep the breath slow, gentle, fluid, and relaxed throughout the practice.
✨ When you are ready to close your practice, exhale through the left nostril. Relax your right hand and take several full body breaths.
✨ Allow your breath to return to normal. As you do, notice your state of mind. How are you feeling? What sensations are present in your body? Quietly observe the effects of the practice. Then, gently open your eyes.

There’s A LOT happening over here! I am leading a 2.5 hour workshop tomorrow, moving into my van, taking a four month course to grow as an entrepreneur and leader in my community. All the while, launching a retreat and planning a cross country road trip to said retreat. 🤯🤯🤯

Thank goodness for days like the one pictured here, yoga, mediation and a positive mindset. When anxiety and stress start to creep in, I use my tools to take care of myself, keep my head above water, trust the process and surrender to the flow. 🧘🏼‍♀️🏜✨

Now more than ever, as a people, we need practices that help us let go of stress and welcome ease into our lives. Yoga does that and so much more! I remember how intimidating it was starting out not know the poses, modifications or how to breathe properly. Whether you're just starting out or you've been practicing for a while, I use my decade of experience to help you take your practice to the next level!

I'll introduce you to "yoga off the mat," called the Eight Limb Path. Then, we'll dive deep into the foundations of the asana (posture) yoga practice, such as, the breath and gaze. Then, we'll breakdown the most common asanas to focus onto proper alignment, muscle engagement and safe modifications. We'll finish with a light flow to tie it all together. You'll leave feeling calm, empowered and connected.

Sanar in Spanish means to heal. That’s what experiences like this do for me. That’s why I create opportunities for people to do things like this, to heal themselves, ultimately healing the planet. This has been a beautiful last minute “retreat” of our own. We have not had the typical Mexican vacation experience. We have drank more cacao and green juice than alcohol. Spent more time immersing ourselves in nature and the local community than at resorts. It’s been nothing short of rejuvenating. ✨

My cup is full and I cannot wait to take everyone out to Joshua Tree in just eight short weeks! We’re going to hike in the National Park, soak in hot springs, bathe in waterfalls and connect with our ancestors at some sacred Mojave landmarks. Don’t forget about the daily practices, meditations and teachings led by yours truly. This is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity! The Yoga Barn Ranch backs up to the National Park in a designated “Dark Sky Area” for some of the best stargazing in the world. Between activities, we have a pool to relax by with a good book or simply take a nap. We’ll enjoy beautiful farm to table meals prepared by one of our hosts, Mike Lattuca, a Johnson & Wales Culinary Arts trained chef. 🤤
