Grant Awards Strengthening Our Community ❤️

We’re excited to share that the City of Inwood was honored at the Lyon County Riverboat Foundation annual grant ceremony held at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort tonight. Our city received a grant to support a shelter house addition in our city park, and West Lyon Community School District was awarded funding for new inclusive playground equipment.

A special thank-you to Grand Falls Casino and the Lyon County Riverboat Foundation for their continued support of local communities. There were many tremendous grants to so many special programs; all of which help to give us all a better quality of life. We’d also like to recognize our Mayor Becca Bixler who attended on behalf of the City of Inwood to accept this year’s grant.

Together, we’re building an even stronger community!

The Inwood Kiwanis gathered today—just as they do every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month—and were honored to welcome a special guest, Ned Hodgson, Director of the Lyon County Veterans Service Office.

We’re grateful for the work Ned and his team do to support our local veterans, and we appreciate the opportunity to learn more about the services available to those who have served our country.

Correction Notice

The City would like to issue a clarification regarding the City Council meeting agenda from Monday 11-10-25. The agenda item referenced a letter from Sheriff Hilt and incorrectly stated that a proposal was made to increase funding to $120.34 per capita.

To clarify — Sheriff Hilt did not propose an increase. The figure of $120.34 per capita was shared as an example to illustrate what an evenly distributed cost might look like across the county and towns, and he specifically noted that such an amount would likely be too high to be manageable.

We appreciate Sheriff Hilt’s clarification and his intent to provide objective numbers for discussion. If you were in attendance at the meeting or watched the stream on YouTube, our next steps are to connect with other municipalities to learn how they have navigated similar situations with shared law enforcement.
