George Fischer

George Charles Fischer went to his heavenly home on October 24, 2025. He was born on December 29, 1938 in Renwick, Iowa, to the late George S. Fischer and Arlene (Smith) Fischer. George's family moved to Plymouth, Wisconsin when he was a young boy. He attended local schools and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1957. On October 26, 1957, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Picard.

George held numerous jobs as a young husband supporting his growing family, and eventually learned meat cutting at Schwallers Meats in Plymouth. It was a trade he continued in the rest of his career, working at Sentry Stores in Port Washington and Theinsville. In 1975 George packed up his family and moved to Scandinavia. He was a meat manager at local stores including Ron & Lloyds in Waupaca, he then worked in the wholesale meat industry at Kaukauna Meats until his retirement.

George enjoyed his family and spent much time with them!! He enjoyed hunting, fishing, travelling out West and Sheepshead card games. He had a soft heart for every pet that crossed his path. George and Pat had many beloved family dogs over the years and a cat or two. His easy smile, gentle humor, and kind nature made him a joy to be around.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Patricia Fischer. He is further survived by his children: Guy (Jan) Fischer, Chris Williams; Steve (Pam Wroblewski) Fischer, Jane (Roger Nelson) Fischer, Maureen (Todd) Gunderson; Kurt (Heidi) Fischer. Alan M. Bellows

Alan Michael Bellows passed away unexpectedly on October 11th, 2025, at his home in Iola, WI.

Alan is survived by his father, Duane Bellows; his children: Vanessa (James) Boutott and Justin (Colleen) Bellows; and his beloved grandchildren: Adrianna, Alexander, and Aiden Boutott. He is further survived by his siblings: Susan (fiancé Joe), Mark (Kim) Bellows, Connie Bellows, Tim Bellows, and Phillip Bellows; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki; his mother, Charlene "Charlie" Bellows; and his brother, David Bellows.

Alan was born on May 2nd, 1961, to Duane and Charlene Bellows in Milwaukee, WI, joining his older sister, Susie (with the rest of the siblings following later). A 1980 graduate of Custer High School, Alan met the love of his life, Vicki, during those years.

After graduation, he began working for Master Lock, where he stayed for two years before welcoming his daughter, Vanessa. Soon after, he started what became a lifelong career as a service technician at Executone, later transitioning through Convergent Communications and finally Ideacom Mid-America. His work took him all over Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa, and he remained proudly employed with Ideacom until his passing. Alan's strong work ethic was instilled in both of his children, who fondly remember him as a hardworking father who always provided for their every need.

When he wasn't working, Alan could be found putzing around in his giant shed-building, fixing, and creating. He was an avid antique shopper who loved stopping "just to look," though he rarely came home empty-handed-often with a new addition to his glassware collection. He was a man who never liked to sit still and was always working on something.

After purchasing their home in Iola, Alan found joy in simple pleasures-cruising the lake on the pontoon, fishing off the pier, or kayaking into quiet corners of the water. He was the kind of man who'd give you the shirt off his back and lend a hand without hesitation. Tough when he needed to be, he loved with all his heart.

Alan's greatest joy came from his grandchildren, especially his granddaughter, whom he affectionately called "Monkey." He treasured their fishing trips, boat rides, and early-morning westerns. Recently, he fulfilled a lifelong dream with a trip to Mexico, where he went deep-sea fishing and had the time of his life.

Per Alan's wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be no public services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice in Alan's memory.

Jude 1:20-21 "But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life." He is loved and will be missed by many.

Kevin Mork

Kevin "Swamp" S. Mork, 56, of Scandinavia passed away on Wednesday,October 1, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1969 in Iola to Pamela (Mork) Madson.

Kevin was an avid pool shooter, playing on multiple leagues in the area. He was a talented artist. Math, especially geometry, came easy to Kevin. He had an affection for kittens. They usually came home in pairs. They could be scared of everyone, but would love him.

Kevin always had a sense of humor. As a long time Brewers fan, he made the comment to mom, "That he wished he would be around for the world series". Her reply was "You will have a front row seat". "Right next to Uecker". He was also a fan of racing.

Gary "Groucho" Marx

Gary (Groucho) James Marx, 70, of Scandinavia, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. He was born on February 4, 1955, in Kewaskum to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Theusch) Marx. On November 14, 1981, Gary married the love of his life, Jane (Van Abel) Marx, in Hollandtown. They shared 43 years of marriage.

Gary and Jane first met at UW Oshkosh, where their first date was bowling. While at Oshkosh, Gary played both football and baseball. He graduated in 1978 and went on to work for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Krause Publications, and IBM. Silver Lake Lanes brought Gary and Jane to the Scandinavia area, where they spent many cherished days between ball fields and bowling alleys. He loved to spin a story, entertaining his family with childhood tales of hitting home runs in Boltonville and helping the lunch ladies bring food up from the basement, always earning himself an extra treat.

Gary loved the outdoors-hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening, and grilling. When winter came, he welcomed the peace of the shack and the warmth of a fire, often snowshoeing through the woods or settling in with a good puzzle. His perfect day started with coffee and a crossword, followed by a summer sausage sandwich and soup for lunch. His afternoons were often spent mowing grass or working in the woods, topped off, of course, with a burger on the grill and an ice-cold beer.

Gary loved his family fiercely. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. After Charlie passed, he always said his best friend was Lucy, the family dog. He never missed a game and had a reputation for legendary tailgates. His smile-warm and unforgettable-lit up every gathering. The places he treasured most included Elmer's Pond, the Chippewa Flowage, and Oak Lake.

His devotion to the community was just as strong. Gary served as town supervisor and chairman for over 30 years. He loved being a volunteer firefighter, treasuring the camaraderie and holding deep respect for the people and the work, especially his BFF Bryan. He gave generously of his time to countless community fundraising events. He tended to the town just as he did to his family-with kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication.

Gary is survived by his wife, Jane; his children: Jack (Nikki) Marx, Joe (Ashley) Marx, Anne Marx, and Mary Marx; and his grandchildren: Rosie and Leo Marx, and Mason and Ava Marx. He is also survived by his brothers Jerry (Patty) Marx and Robert Marx; his sister-in-law June Marx; and his brothers-in-law Tim (Nancy) Van Abel, Mike (Diane) Van Abel, John (JoAnn) Van Abel, and Patrick (Kristie) Van Abel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jocko, his in-laws Wilfred and Duff Van Abel, and his brother-in-law Jerry Van Abel.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 7, from 1:30-4:00 p.m. at Voie Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Street, Iola. Dinner and drinks will follow at Silver Lake Lanes.

The family wishes to thank the first responders of the Scandinavia Fire Department, Iola Fire and Ambulance, Weyauwega Fire Department, and the Waupaca County Sheriff's Department.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scandinavia Fire Department or to Anne's Venmo:-Marx
