PGY2 resident Aaron Brake, MD, has published a systematic review entitled “Definitive embolization of meningiomas: a 20-year updated systematic review” in . He is also 1st author on an oral abstract being presented at on March 5-7th. Topic: "Endovascular Management of Cerebral Venous Outflow Obstruction Secondary to Intracranial Mass Lesions: A Systematic Review." Congrats, Aaron!!

Dr. Michael Guo was the 2026 recipient of the Senior Radiology Resident Research Day Award. His research topic was “Faster and Not Inferior: Wave CAIPI SWI Accelerates Pediatric Brain MRI with Comparable Image Quality”. His mentor was Pediatric faculty Dr. Lillian Lai.

Dr. Guo is PGY-5 Resident who will be staying with the University for a Neuroradiology Fellowship for the 2026-2027 academic year!

He is pictured below with Dr. Lee Bennett, an MSK Radiologist and the Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Radiology. Dr. Guo is pictured again with Dr. Bennett, Dr. Theodore Donta who is the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program Director and a Neuroradiologist, and Dr. Bruno Policeni who is the DEO and Chair of the Department of Radiology and Neuroradiologist.

We are thrilled to share that our PET/MR scanner, the Biograph One, was delivered yesterday! Iowa is only the 2nd site in the U.S. to implement this state-of-the-art scanner. It will enhance patient access to advanced molecular imaging and offer exciting opportunities for translational and clinical research, especially in the areas of oncology and neurology.

Special thanks to those who've worked diligently to plan the projects; in particular, Drs. Ananya Panda and Stephen Graves.
