Dr. Steven Levy, the Wright-Bush-Shreves Endowed Professor of Research published an editorial in JAMA Pediatrics, which raised concerns of the evidence base in a study on associations between fluoride exposure and children’s IQ scores, which was released Monday. The editorial cited the limitations of available data, inclusion and exclusion of criteria, high risk of bias, a lack of transparency, and more, which do not properly illustrate current knowledge on associations of fluoride and neurodevelopment and cognition.
