📣 Hospice education tips with RN BSN Aimee Brougher on senior wound care! 📣
RN Aimee asserts that “excellent wound care begins with proper nutrition. Our bodies, much like well-oiled machines, rely on sufficient protein and fats to function optimally.” 🧡
She goes on to educate further, “Protein, in particular, supports healthy skin and the body's natural healing process. When nutrition is lacking, skin becomes more vulnerable to pressure injuries, wounds caused by prolonged pressure on certain parts of the body. These injuries often result from extended periods of immobility, which impair skin perfusion and increase the risk of wounds.” 💙
Thank you, RN Aimee, for sharing your insightful words on wound care. Recognizing these factors transforms how we care for seniors at every stage, especially in hospice settings. 🌟
