Another wonderful Precision Neuromuscular Therapy Seminars training this past weekend in the classroom that I learned to become a massage therapist in. This was the third time that I have taken the Hip and Thigh training and as is with all of the PNMT seminars I've taken (and retaken), I left with new information, techniques, and understandings. I'm so thankful that this approach to treating clients was mandatory in school and that I've been able to continue training with them. It is this continuing education and mentorship that has allowed me to repeatedly learn new ways to best help my clients.

❗️Exciting news!!! Precision Neuromuscular Therapy Seminars (PNMT) is coming to the UP for the first time to provide continuing education courses for licensed massage therapists and physical therapists (PTs may need to call the state to see if CEUs will be given)!!!

I chose to attend Blue Sky School of Professional Massage & Therapeutic Bodywork because of their Medical Intensive Track, which required one to take all of the PNMT foundational courses. Since graduation, the majority of my continuing education has been with PNMT due to their approach, which is grounded in science through their clinical practice, and through the application of problem solving skills. One doesn’t learn a routine to treat dysfunction such as low back pain, but how to use assessment skills (tests, palpation, and knowing what muscles live and refer to the area) to create a treatment plan that best and most efficiently treats a client’s pain and dysfunction. Founder, Doug Nelson, always says, “At any moment during a session, I should be able to state where and why I am working there.” That confidence translates to the body and client.

Skin rolling and assessing the pliability of the superficial layers of fascia is one of my favorite ways to warm up and assess tissues before treating. Like one client said, “It feels like a wave rolling down my back.”
