Mellon Chiropractic Clinic Inc. Sells to Ferrum Chiropractic P.C.

After almost 39 years in practice Dr. Michael Mellon will retire on September 30th. Dr. Jake Zeugner purchased the practice and started treating patients at the same location, 208 E Hughitt Street in Iron Mountain on October 4th, 2021.

Dr. Mike was a 3rd generation Chiropractor and the 4th to practice at this location. The office has a wonderful history. Dr. Jake will be the 5th Chiropractor to carry on the tradition. Dr. Frank Logic was the first, then Dr. Ambrose Mellon in 1952, Dr. Robert Mellon in 1969, Dr. Michael Mellon in 1998 & now Dr. Jake Zeugner in 2021. Dr. Mike’s father, Dr. Robert Mellon, just turned 90 in September and was able to see his son retire.

Dr. Jake is a native of Vulcan Michigan. He graduated from Norway High School in 2008, then attended Northern Michigan University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree. He then attended the Palmer Chiropractic College in Florida and upon graduation came back to the U.P. to practice. He has been practicing in Iron River for the past four years. Dr. Jake is the son of Ronald and Barbara Zeugner of Vulcan Michigan. He and his wife Sara live in Iron Mountain.

The name “Ferrum” Chiropractic was derived from the Latin work for “iron”. Dr. Jake is excited to continue the tradition of providing the community with chiropractic care. The technique Dr. Jake uses is the “Palmer Package” which consists of Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson Drop, Activator and Flexion/Distraction.

Dr. Zeugner takes all ages of patients. He accepts BCBS, Medicare, UPHP Medicaid, Aetna, United Health Care, Humana and most commercial insurances. He also treats Auto Accident and Work Comp cases. Walk-ins are welcome. The office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Dr. Mike would like to thank all the people who chose him and put their confidence in him as their Chiropractor. His wife and office manager, Lori, is retiring with him. Dr. Mike has treated numerous generations of families. He will miss his patients and many are like family after all these years. It has been a very rewarding career and now it’s come to the time to pass his practice on to Dr. Jake.

To all my patients,

I wanted to let you know that I will be retiring in the very near future. Possibly by mid September of this year.

We have a young Chiropractor named Dr. Jake Zeugner who will be taking over my practice. We are continuing to finalize the sale & transfer. All has been going smoothly.

If you need to make an appointment before I leave, please call as soon as possible. Hello to everyone!

It's been quite the year and we have been so busy with all that has been
involved with Covid-19, we have not had time to continue our bi-monthly
newsletter.

I wanted to remind all of you to do all you can to help build up your
immune system. Eat healthy, lots of lean meats, vegetables and fruits.
Drink lots of water and stay hydrated. Exercise daily and try to take
off a few extra pounds if you need to. Take vitamins. It is known that
Vitamin D and Zinc help boost the immune system to help fight against
Covid-19.( Always check vitamins with your family doctor or Pharmacist
to make sure their are no complications with any other medication you
may be taking). Building up your immune system will not only help with
Covid-19 but will also help you fight off other viruses & bacteria's. We
carry a very good line of vitamins at our office. We do carry the
Vitamin-D, Zinc, Multi, Vit-C and a Cobotic which is an immune system
booster.

We continue to be Covid-19 Compliant and follow all CDC and Department
of Health guidelines.

The office will be open some days during Christmas and New Years weeks.

try to get in before January 1st when many deductibles renew.

🍉 As of June 1st our office is fully open as normal! YEA!!!

Governor Whitmer's executives orders allowed medical hospitals and clinics to open for all non emergency/regular care, which includes Chiropractic.

In the medical setting we have to continue to follow the "social distancing" and "safety guidelines" set by the CDC and Dept. of Health. We are asking when you come to your appointment to continue to come by yourself and please wear a mask. Do not come if you are sick, have any Covid-19 symptoms, have been around anyone who is symptomatic or have traveled in the past two weeks. We continue to do all proper sterilization of the office after each patient to ensure your safety and the safety of our staff.

Stay healthy and we hope this pandemic is over very soon!
Please call the office if you need an appointment. We do not want you to suffer any longer! We want you feeling GOOD! We'll be happy to schedule you and give you the treatment that you need.

Mellon Chiropractic is still open during the COVID-19 Epidemic. The Governor allowed Chiropractic offices to continue to help people in pain. She did not want people to end up in after hours clinics or emergency rooms, since they are already very over crowded. Patients can continue see Dr. Mike to help them with their pain issues. If you have Migraine headaches, Sciatica, severe back, neck, arm, hip pain from an injury or have been in an Auto Accident or a Work Comp injury, you can call for an appointment. 906-774-2488. COVID-19, Corona Virus Precautions in Our Office

Here is the protocol we are using to sanitize our office.

1. If a patient or employee is sick they will be told to stay home.
2. If a patient or employee has been exposed they will be told to stay home.
3. Our front office, treating rooms and bathroom are always stocked with
hand sanitizer/soap, disinfecting spray and bleach wipes.
4. Patients will sanitize hands upon entering and leaving the building.
5. We have a box of face masks for anyone who wishes to wear one to protect
themselves as a precaution.
6. We wipe down every room after each patient which includes, head rests,
hand bars, heating pad switches, door k***s, desk tops and arm chairs.
7. Front office and bathroom are disinfected daily.
8. Each patient is treated in a private room. There are no open treating rooms.
9. Dr. Mike never double or triple books patients or crams 10 people in an hour.
We never have a reception room full of people waiting for treatment.
10. Our waiting area is large so if we were to have 2 or 3 people waiting, there is
sufficient room to be over 6 feet away.
11. Please come to your appointments by yourself.
12. Do not bring your whole family, children, elderly or anyone who is sick.

We know the uncertainty of this virus has caused many people to panic. Taking precautions, using commons sense and proper protocols of disinfecting can greatly reduce the spread of this virus.
We want all our patients and any new patient entering our office to know that we take every precaution to make sure our office is as sanitary and safe as can be. For years we have always taken the proper precautions to sanitize all areas, especially during cold and flu season and we will continue to do so to help stop the spread of this virus.
