Yesterday was Red Ribbon Week Celebration for the Chesapeake High School Student Ambassadors and their peers!
We had an amazing turnout with many treatment providers, judges, law-enforcement, probation, backpack, buddies, Heath Department,DJFS. and several other community partners in attendance. Each organization set up a resource table in the gym giving every high school student the opportunity to visit, learn and discover what local resources are available to them and others in need.
Early intervention and education are key factors in helping our kids make positive choices!

A huge shout out to Chesapeake High School for giving QRT and the Student Ambassadors the opportunity to host this meaningful event in their school!

Great work from our Overdose Investigator

A Lawrence County jury has found Lutz Trautzsch, of Sidney, Ohio, guilty of Trafficking in a Fentanyl Related Compound and Corrupting Another with Drugs in connection with a December 2024 overdose death in the Pedro area. The case was presented by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Steve Nord.

Investigator James Akers of the Lawrence County Drug and Major Crime Task Force, along with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Lawrence and Montgomery County Coroner’s Offices, conducted a thorough investigation leading to Trautzsch’s indictment and conviction.

“Fentanyl continues to devastate families in our community,” Prosecutor Brigham M. Anderson said. “We are committed to holding accountable those who distribute these deadly drugs.”

To date in 2025, 18 individuals have died from fatal overdoses in Lawrence County, an increase from 17 in 2024. Each overdose is carefully investigated, and those responsible for causing another’s death are held accountable through the justice system.

Sentencing for Trautzsch is scheduled for October 15, 2025, before the Honorable Judge Christen Finley.
