๐ŸŒฟ LET'S TALK ABOUT PREBIOTICS!

It's so important that when strains of good bacteria are introduced to the colon, there's already food there that the bacteria prefer to eat. ๐Ÿฆ 

So the good bugs can grow and create even more CFUs (Colony Forming Units) โ€” looking much like a blooming garden in your microbiome. ๐ŸŒธ

When the gut has a plentiful and diverse environment of healthy bacteria, it:

๐Ÿฆ  PROBIOTICS HELP RESTORE NORMAL MICROBIAL BALANCE

There are various ways that you can consume probiotics in your diet.

You can consume Greek yogurt ๐Ÿฅ›, kefir, fermented vegetables like kimchi ๐Ÿฅฌ, sauerkraut, miso ๐Ÿœ, and tempeh.
One of the things I always want to make sure of is thisโ€ฆ
Are you consuming a probiotic that has enough strains of lactobacillus bacteria โ€” and the family of bifidobacterium. ๐Ÿ”ฌ

You need:
Enough of those strains โœ…
Specific strains within those families โœ…
The proper quantity โœ…

โš ๏ธ BEWARE: Not all probiotics or probiotic supplements are created equal!

Some have to be refrigerated and have to stay cold โ„๏ธ โ€” this limits your ability to be able to travel with them. โœˆ๏ธ

And, then (out of sight, out of mind!) remembering them and not forgetting to take them in the morning! โฐ

Some of them don't survive as they travel through the digestive system in order to make it all the way down through the small intestine to reach the large intestine and your colon where the good bacteria can actually work their magic. ๐Ÿช„

And, making sure they're not killed off during the journey โ€” from being too weak, not having the right quantity, or being destroyed by stomach acid. ๐Ÿ’ช

And of course, once the bacteria makes it to the colon that the strains have the foods there to support them so they can create even more healthy colonies of good bacteria to be able to improve your gut health
