So many pervasive thought errors. Not enough hours in the day.
Today, lets do seed oils.
The seed oil demonization has erroded the ability to think coherently.
Its not your fault.
It's basic, obvious, idiotic errors of thinking presented by people who should know better.
THE MEME: Seed oils are bad
Really?
You think black seed oil is bad?
You think flax seed oil is bad?
You think pumpkin seed oil is bad?
"You don't understand, canola oil, sunflower oil ....
Oh!
You mean industrial processing?
"Right, seed oils"
Oh, we're back to all those seed oils I mentioned. Those are bad?
"Uh....no I mean...
You mean industrial processed oils?
"Yes!"
So its not seed oils themselves, its the processing?
"Uh....well....yeah. But seed oils are bad"
Why?
"Because PUFA's are bad"
You do understand PUFA's are essential? You would die without them?
"No we get too much omega 6!"
Oh, you mean they are not bad, it's the dose?
"No they are bad"
How can they be bad if they are essential and you die without them?
"Seed oils sare bad dude, get with it"
THE PROBLEM:
As you can see above, there is a simple inability to think coherently.
Several errors plague the modern meme of seed oils
CONFLATION: Conflating seed oils with industrial processing.
BINARY THINKING:
Seed oils can only be bad.
Actually, the reality is they can have significant benefits.
They can also have negative effects.
The issue, as I have said repeatedly, is THE U SHAPED CURVE.
PUFA's can only be bad.
Yet they are essential for life. Omega 6 fatty acids are essential. So are Omega 3's.
The issue is the dose. The dose gets conflated with the thing, and binary thinking takes over.
These thought errors are basic. They are spread as axioms via induction.
Induction means you just hear them so much you think they are true, yet the evidence says otherwise.
Together we can stop the stupid.
