Mariners MomCo Fridays Mariners MomCo Friday is a place that is welcoming to all moms from pregnancy through school age. We believe that better moms make a better world.

MomCo exists to encourage, equip, and develop every mother of young children to realize her potential as a woman, a mother, and a leader in the name of Jesus Christ. MomCo offers friendship, honest conversation, opportunities for growth and development, and relevant teaching. We meet weekly to enjoy brunch and community, listen to dynamic and relevant speakers, and build friendships that make the journey as a mom easier and a lot more fun. You will leave feeling refreshed and inspired to be the best mom, wife, friend, and leader you can be.

This week we are having a guest panel composed of members from our Womens, Kids, Marriage, and Care & Recovery ministries here at Mariners. One of our goals as a MomCo community is not just to gather together, but to help moms feel connected and supported in every season of family life. Our ministry panel will be sharing how they are walking alongside families, and how moms can engage when they’re ready. We hope to help you grow in community both inside and outside the MomCo room.

We are having a Connection Day with a serve project!

We will spend the morning connecting with our table mamas and other moms in the room. We also are going to participate in a serve project where we are going to bless 13 foster kids, ranging from age 7-12 with an Easter basket!

This week’s guest speaker is Tina Keith. Tina will be speaking on “How to Deal When You Just Can’t Deal: Understanding and Coping with “Mom Rage””.

We will be learning about anger, what it is, why we have it, what contributes to “rage” and overstimulation in motherhood, and learn tools to utilize in the moment to help work through feelings of anger.

Tina is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with private practices in Mission Viejo and Newport Beach. Tina has dedicated her time and career exclusively to working with women and moms, and maintains extra certification in Perinatal and Maternal Mental Health. She recently co-founded a therapy collective with a colleague in hopes to provide the mamas of South County with more access to perintally-focused mental health services, called The Perinatal Wellness Collective, in Mission Viejo. In her spare time, Tina enjoys spending time with her 3 kids and husband doing sporty things, playing board games, hiking and hanging out at the beach.

TEA & TESTIMONY IS TOMORROW!

We’re so excited for tomorrow’s tea and testimony. It is going to be a beautiful morning hearing stories of redemption, grace and getting encouraged for all that God is doing and can do in our lives. One of the biggest cravings of our hearts is connection and being able to connect to someone as they share their story. Being able to connect with someone’s story is powerful and bonding. We are praying that each of you will join us for this special day.

We will have table talk time, hear stories and prayer time together. For those of us that know the Lord and those that are just starting to find out who He is and everyone in between, there is space for you here at MomCo and we want you to be with us tomorrow.

We’re so excited to welcome our guest speaker this week: Jim Burns. He is the Founder of HomeWord and speaks to thousands of people around the world each year and has more than 3 million resources in print in over 20 languages. His popular HomeWord with Jim Burns podcast is on all the major podcast platforms. Jim writes and speaks primarily on the values of HomeWord which are strong marriages, confident parents, empowered kids, and healthy leaders. Some of his most popular books are A Student’s Guide to Sexual Integrity, Doing Life with Your Adult Children: Keep Your Mouth Shut and the Welcome Mat Out, Teaching Your Children Healthy Sexuality, Confident Parenting and Creating an Intimate Marriage. Jim and his wife, Cathy, live in Southern California and have three grown daughters, three sons in law, and four grandchildren.

This week Jim will be speaking on “Creating a Media Safe Home.”
What about Facebook? Gaming? Music? Texting, sexting, and cell phone use and abuse? What about SnapChat and the latest teen movies? If young people are becoming “tech savvy” as early as first grade, then what is a parent to do? Jim will deal with the fact that cell phones are the greatest distributors of po*******hy and what you can do about it. Is it possible to create a media safe home? Jim Burns believes you can. It’s easier to start early but it’s never too late. Jim Burns will tackle the practical questions about media and help you develop media, music, and movie contracts with your kids. This is the week we’ve all been waiting for!

MOMSWAP is here this week!

That means we can finally find a place to bring all of those things we’ve been hanging onto since Christmas that could use a new home. Dust off your shelves and bring whatever you’re ready to part with. Think Marie Kondo and ask yourself, “does this bring me joy?” Or “am I ready for this to go to a new home?” Whatever you decide, bring your previously loved items to MomCo this week and let others “shop” your items.

It’s a great time to do some early spring cleaning and share with our community. There’s always plenty to go around and extra to donate to Mariners own thrift store. Come with an open mind for connection and maybe a few bags to carry new things. Can’t wait to see you there!

This week Hayley Goldberg is coming to speak with us on the topic of Emotional Development. A practical, reassuring talk for parents and caregivers on understanding why meltdowns and tantrums happen in young children and how to respond calmly and effectively. You’ll learn simple, age-appropriate strategies to reduce meltdowns, support emotional development, and build connection during challenging moments. It’s a talk you won’t want to miss!

Hayley is a licensed marriage and family therapist, parent educator, parenting coach, and proud mother of three amazing young adults. With nearly 20 years of experience, she began her career working with individuals, couples, and families, before shifting her focus 11 years ago to specialize exclusively in parent coaching. Today, she supports parents of toddlers and preschoolers with empathy, insight, and proven strategies. Passionate about guiding parents through the joys and challenges of raising young children, Hayley helps parents uncover the deeper meaning behind their children’s behaviors. She equips parents with practical tools and a deeper understanding of both their children and themselves, empowering them to approach parenting with more calm, confidence, and respect. Hayley believes there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting. She works collaboratively with families to discover what’s right for them, always honoring their unique values and circumstances. Her mission is to reduce the stress and isolation so many parents feel—and to help them find more joy, connection, and confidence in their parenting journey.
