Originally founded in 2001 (as For OC Kids), The Center for Autism is home to a team of experts in the field of autism and neurodevelopmental disorders. Since our opening, we’ve been a leader in assessment, diagnosis, care coordination, family support and education for children with autism spectrum and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Our goal is to give help and hope to children and families living with autism, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Pawsitive vibes incoming! 🐾

We are thrilled to share that UCI Pet Therapy is coming to CAND offering our patients a chance to build social-emotional connections and engaging in some comforting sensory play!

Meet Tulip! This loving golden retriever is a Pet Therapy volunteer and she stopped by last month. Her 30-minute visit brought so much light and love to our patients and our staff- it was truly a fantastic experience for everyone 💛 How cute is her UCI Health badge!

📆 Great News: Tulip will now be visiting on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Get ready for some serious tail wags and smiles 👉 Next Visit: Thursday, November 20th.

Important Note for Families:
This special visit is reserved for UCI Health-CAND patients. If your child already has an appointment scheduled for Thursday, November 20th in the afternoon, meeting Tulip will be a wonderful bonus treat 💙 Please join us in our therapy garden if you are here that day. Say hello, paws and relax, and enjoy some love from a furry friend.

🎨 We had a SPOOK-TACULAR time with Chuck Jones Center for Creativity!

On October 29th, we hosted a FREE art workshop and our young artists totally nailed the "Haunting Air Dry Clay Figures" and "Monochromatic Pastel X-Ray" activity, creating some seriously cool clay pumpkins and ghosts and using pastels to learn about color, shading, and the science of hand bones with glowing results.

Ready for the next creative adventure? Join us for our upcoming FREE session on Monday, November 17th, from 3:30-5:00 PM!
