What Causes a Neck Hump?

A neck hump is usually posture and muscle patterning — not just fat.�

💥 Forward head posture is the main culprit�

💥 Overusing devices makes it worse�

Some try to massage it away BUT you must retrain the deep neck stabilizers for lasting results! And the 3 to 6 month developmental exercises do it best!

What is the healthiest position to sit in?⁠

The healthiest sitting position isn’t one position! It’s not about sitting “right” as much as it’s about moving often and knowing when to change it up.⁠

Try implimenting these 3 things:⁠

⭐️ Alternate between sitting and standing every 30 minutes ⁠
⭐️ Make sure you're sitting on your sit bone vs behind it⁠
⭐️ Always opt for neutral.. avoid twisting positions⁠

How do I know if my posture is affecting my pain?�⁠

Technically your posture tells what your comfortable position is...⁠

So that means your posture, if off, is not causing the pain!⁠

If moving out of that position eases the pain, then it is dysfunctional patterns of movement that are at the root of your issues!⁠

Can poor ergonomics cause headaches or TMJ issues?⁠

Poor posture and ergonomics can create tension all the way into your head and jaw!⁠

Here are some changes you can make:⁠

💥 Sit close enough that you don't have to learn forward⁠
💥 Bring your monitor high enough so the center of your screen is eye-level⁠
💥 Take breaks and change your position every 30min ⁠
💥 Increase the font size to avoid leaning ⁠
💥 Use the 20-20-20 rule (every 20min look at something 20 feet away for 20 sec)⁠
