Five years strong. Student-organized. Student-led. Student-powered.

My high school leadership group is organizing a virtual convention. This year the idea is to create a space where mental health isn't just discussed—it's understood. We are seeking authentic voices who've navigated stress, anxiety, or burnout and discovered tools that work.

Your story matters. Your journey could be exactly what a teenager needs to hear to know they're not alone. Your practical advice could become their daily lifeline.

This isn't about lectures—it's about real conversations during Mental Health Awareness Month that leave students with strategies they can use immediately.

✨ PROUD COACH MOMENT ✨

When my students stepped onto the Business Battlefield stage last Sunday, they weren't just presenting business ideas—they were showcasing months of courage, growth, and determination.

From 70+ business proposals submitted, THREE of my amazing students made it to the top 9 finalists! 🌟

What happens behind the scenes matters most:

🔹Creating compelling pitch decks that tell a story
🔹Transforming personal challenges into business solutions
🔹Researching evidence to establish genuine authority
🔹Mastering presentation skills in high-pressure environments
🔹Answering judges' questions with confidence and clarity
🔹Calming those butterflies when all eyes are on you (especially challenging for my introverts!)

Watching these young entrepreneurs step outside their comfort zones, present in unfamiliar settings, and think on their feet made me prouder than any trophy could.

But yes, the cherry on top? They took third place 🏆

This is exactly why I believe in project-based learning—real-world applications where skills come alive in contexts that matter to students.

Competition season is rewarding in many ways. Yes, we bring home trophies 🏆. But the biggest reward is the CONFIDENCE we gain we every competition we attend. Because students get an opportunity to step outside their comfort zone, overcome their fears and insecurities, show off their hard work (writing speeches and practicing them is not simple task) and at the end of the day they FEEL the sense of accomplishment even if they don’t bring home the trophy 🏆. That’s the reason we compete. To gain practical, real life skills of doing hard things and overcoming our insecurities through competing and learning communication skills. Students learn by doing. 😊

This winter camp we tried something new- we created digital products to learn the concept of earning money with our talents and not with our time. Excited to see what will come out of this.

Competed ✔️ in 3 speech competitions ( online and in-person) with two second places and one third place awards 🎤

Completed ✔️marathon 🥇

Participated in ✔️charity event (students participated in placemats for seniors campaign and drew placemats) 🎗️

Took part in ✔️3 business fairs with 2 awards for most creative business🏆

Published ✔️1 book 📖 with 5 stars 🌟 reviews on Amazon

Wrote grants for our business and won 💰

Oh yeh and I earned my Masters Degree

We are ready for 2024.
