Being a mom is hard but I have felt so much support from beautiful people like Avital at and Jessi and Rowena at ! Community is so important and finding that connection has made motherhood a little easier each day ❤️ just more proof that connection is valuable and should be prioritized for all humans, not just neurodivergent people 🫶 Connection is communication!

2 movies that promote inclusivity and awareness of what AAC can look like for a non-speaking individual
🍿Out Of My Mind (2024) will be on Disney+ on November 22nd but you can check the trailer out on page! It follows Melody Brooks, a sixth grader with cerebral palsy, and her journey when a young educator recognizes her potential, brings her into mainstream education where she finally gets the chance to prove that her thoughts and ideas are far more important than how she communicates them.
🍿The Reason I Jump (2020)
A documentary based on the book by Naoki Higashida, a non-verbal autistic boy who uses AAC to express his thoughts. The film offers a deep, sensory perspective of non-verbal autism and the importance of alternative communication methods.

These films and shows highlight the importance of AAC for individuals who rely on alternative ways to communicate, fostering awareness and understanding of diverse communication needs.
