As construction of the new Peter Paulsen Pavilion continues at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center, the historic marble statue of St. Joseph and the Child Jesus has been carefully removed to ensure its protection throughout the building process.
Commissioned in the 1920s by a local civic leader, this beloved statue has a rich legacy, one that has taken it from Bellingham to Bellevue and back again. Deepening its connection to the community over the past century.
Once construction is complete, the statue will be returned to a place of honor on campus, where it will continue to stand as a symbol of compassion, healing, and the enduring roots of the PeaceHealth community.
