Big news in the world of weight loss! The FDA has finally approved tirzepatide for weight management!!!! It was FDA approved for diabetes previously. Tirzepatide has 2 mechanisms of action!!! It’s a GLP-1 receptor agonist (like Ozempic) AND a GIP receptor agonist. Studies of tirzepatide showed patients lost up to 27% of their body weight!!! 😳 💉

THE END OF AN ERA. This is it - I’ve delivered my very last baby. I walked out of Clements University Hospital for the very last time. It has been my absolute pleasure and honor being an Ob/Gyn for the last 14 years. I couldn’t tell you how many babies I’ve delivered and how many surgeries I have done, but I am grateful to my amazing patients. You have all changed me, made me a better human and a better doctor. Thank you for trusting me all of these years.

When you're trusted with delivering babies, there's nothing better than parental approval. Two UTSW OB/GYN specialists have been recognized for their fine work by DFWChild. Both of them trusted the team at the UTSW Clements University Hospital with the birth of their own children.

Martin Hechanova, M.D., M.P.H., FACOG, and Kyler Elwell Silver, M.D., M.S., have both been named “Mom-Approved” OB/GYNs by the publication.

“Being named a ‘Mom-Approved’ OB/GYN by DFW Child is a huge honor because the nomination is made by moms and for moms,” Dr. Hechanova said. “Taking care of moms and their babies is such a joy. My patients become like family to me after a nine-month pregnancy journey.”

I know people are struggling with this decision for their kids...but believe in the science, it’s safe, it’s effective, it’s gonna get us back to normal life.
