Last year the library displayed Santas around the library and the year before was Nativity sets. This year, the library's theme is Stockings! If you have a stocking from your childhood or one that is now your adult child's, one that you made, or one that you bought at a garage sale because it was cute, we would love to be able to put them on display at the Lied Irwin Public Library for all to see.
Stockings can be dropped off starting now and going until Dec. 2nd at 6pm. Please include a little write up or LaJissa can help you write one when you drop off your stocking.
There will be an Open House on Dec. 7th from 3-5pm for everyone to walk around and see the many different stockings.

Saturday was the last of our 3 part series of Junk Journaling. It has been fun to see everyone get more creative and have even completed a few pages in their junk journal books. The food spread was fabulous, with so many yummy things to eat to help keep the creativity going! We will take a break for the month of December, but it looks like we will continue junk journaling in January if anyone new would like to learn.

It is crazy to think November is here! Time is going by too fast! There are four programs planned for November at the Lied Irwin Public Library:
Nov. 1st - Junk Journal Workshop
Nov. 15th- Holiday Pet Photoshoot (lots of times available!)
Nov. 20th- Forest Friends
Nov. 25th- B.Y.O.B. Club
Please note we are closed Nov. 27th, Thanksgiving Day.

Tomorrow, Nov. 1st, is our Junk Journal Workshop from 9am-1pm; come and go as you need. If you have never been before, we can get you set up! If you have been coming, we can't wait to see you again. This is a free workshop and all the supplies are provided. If you are able, please bring a snack to share.

To celebrate Halloween at the Lied Irwin Public Library, we had a Jack O' Lantern container filled with 1,101 cheese balls that people could come in and guess how many there were. The winner, with 1,031 as her guess, was Jean Borcher! Congratulations!

The Villisca Axe Murders of 1912 might still be “unsolved,” but after finishing that long, detail-packed book, our club has theories and opinions. One unanimous verdict: We did not care for James Wilkerson. For November, B.Y.O.B. will be our book club on the 25th at 6:30pm. December 9th at 6:30pm will be "Once Upon a Wardrobe."
