ESSMC provides outpatient physical therapy care & sports medicine rehabilitation to North Huntingdon

East Suburban Sports Medicine Center (ESSMC) was established in 1984 to meet the need for high-quality outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine physical therapy care in Pittsburgh's eastern suburbs. At that time, our facility was the first free-standing outpatient clinic in Monroeville, PA. Since then we have expanded to 8 additional offices throughout the region: ESSMC Greensburg, ESSMC Kiski, ESSMC Monroeville, ESSMC North Huntington, ESSMC Murrysville, ESSMC Penn Hills, ESSMC Penn Township, and ESSMC Plum Boro.

🌟 Exciting News from The Rehab Times! Edition 1! 🌟

Meet Rick! Our Champion of the Month! 💪

After suffering a stroke in July 2025, Rick began his journey at ESSMC Penn Hills, where our amazing neurological rehabilitation team has been by his side every step of the way.

When Rick first arrived, he faced challenges with communication and mobility, which kept him from enjoying his favorite activities like hunting, fishing, and spending quality time with his niece and nephew. But with unwavering support from his family and dedicated therapists, Rick is making extraordinary strides! 🚀

Now, he’s actively working towards walking without a brace, regaining function in his right arm, and expressing his thoughts confidently. 🎯 He’s even been back out in the field hunting with his loved ones and has taken the brave step of living independently in his own home again!

Rick’s determination is truly inspiring, and we couldn't be prouder of his progress. 🌈 The journey may be challenging, but together, we can celebrate each victory along the way!

Meet Jena Mosca, PTA!

Jena is originally from Youngstown, Ohio and she recently moved to the Penn Hill's area. She studied at Penn State Shenango an earned an associate in science and physical therapy assistant License.

Before joining ESSMC, Jena was working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Ohio for almost 2 years and focused on treating TMJ and Vestibular patients. She enjoys outpatient because of the variety it offers.

Outside the clinic she is a diehard Penn state football and New York Giants fan. She also enjoys golfing and has played since she was 12.

Jena is currently treating out of our Monroeville & Plum offices.
