**NEW NEUROPATHY SERVICE BEING OFFERED**

There is now a new neuropathy service being offered at Irwin Family Chiropractic Clinic.

For many years, the only available treatment for peripheral neuropathy were medications such as Gabapentin, Neurontin, Lyrica and Cymbalta. Also, there are a few physical therapy
modalities that have been helpful over the years including, but not limited to various electrical stim units and Class IV lasers. We do offer these particular therapy modalities which have yielded some success, but, as of January, 2025, we have invested in the state-of-the-art electrical therapeutic treatment for neuropathy, the Neurogenx 4000 Pro. We have many brochures and pieces of literature available at the office documenting the successes of the Neurogenx 4000 Pro neuropathy treatment device.

The FDA has given the Neurogenx 4000 Pro a success rating of 87%, which is more than 4 out of 5 patients reporting significant reduction to complete resolution of their symptoms. There are
many reasons why people have numbness, tingling, stinging, fullness and heaviness in their feet, not all of which is neuropathy; however, many times it is. If you have been told, as so many others have been, that you have to live with your neuropathy
and survive with only the minimal help from your medications, this is no longer true. This procedure is, for the most part, painless and has worked thus far on our patients consistent with
the FDA statistics.

One of our most popular treatment options outside of normal adjusting is our decompression tables. Decompression is used for a multitude of different conditions and in some cases can be a great pre-adjustive technique to ensure maximal results and recovery. Below are some of the physiological responses that occur during and after decompression. If you or someone you know suffers from acute/chronic disc problems, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, stenosis or chronic muscle pain from poor posture, decompression can help tremendously!!!

1. Provides pain relief. Decompression can relieve tension in tight, spasming, or injured muscles and stimulate the nervous system to release neuro-chemical signals that have an analgesic effect on the body. This can provide significant pain relief in as little as 1 to 3 sessions.
2. Promotes healing of spinal disc tissues. Decompression imposes a vacuum-like force on the spinal discs, which helps to draw healing fluids, cells, and other substances toward the damaged tissue.
3. Helps restore normal spinal disc and joint alignment. Things like stress, poor body mechanics, and other factors may cause joints to become restricted in their motion or your discs to herniate. Plantar Fasciitis and Chiropractic

Plantar fasciitis is characterized by piercing heel pain that is usually worse after periods of rest or lack of movement, worse at the end of the day, and most intense within the first few steps following inactivity. It has become one of the most common foot conditions the general public faces and in recent literature said to affect up to 15% of the population. Repetitive walking or running can cause micro-trauma and inflammation at the plantar fascia origin on the calcaneus(heel) leading to a more degenerative process which is why symptoms have a delayed effect.

Treatment: 3-6 visits depending on severity
*Soft tissue mobilization: instrument assisted release of the plantar fascia and calf muscles break up adhesions beneath the skin, promote increased blood flow and circulation to the injured area, and reduce contracture in the plantar fascia.
*Adjustments: correcting biomechanical dysfunctions in the foot, pelvis and low back can have a dramatic effect on the stress and tension placed on the foot leading to a decreased need for the plantar fascia to remain tensed.
*Class IV laser therapy: Improved vascular activity: significantly increase the formation of new capillaries (angiogenesis) in damaged tissue that will speed up the healing process, accelerated tissue repair and cell growth: Cells of cartilage, bone, tendons, ligaments and muscles are repaired faster as a result of exposure to high powered Near InfraRed Laser photons.
