Special Moments

As yoga instructors, we are given a front row seat to witnessing special moments taking place in every direction as we teach; the new yogi, showing up for herself for the very first time, the soft and focused gaze of the yogi determined to find balance amongst his intentional breaths. We see connections made amongst sisters and strangers, while taking in the progress made by the Yogi who, for the first time, celebrates themself as they settle into an asana they once thought they would never be able to accomplish.

We catch glimpses of healthy frustrations, meaningful tears, full emotional releases, joyous laughs and smiles, and inner confidence begin to flourish and show up outwardly as Yogis grow in their practice. We hear the breath of life enter and leave the lungs of our Yogis; soft rumbling sounds of Ujjayi, the fluttering of lips on the exhale, and the exasperated sigh followed by a beautiful deep inhale as someone resets to try again.

We watch as Yogis walk in, experience these special moments during class for themselves, then, transformed, walk out and back into the world with restored energy and a deeper sense of purpose and belonging.

We are grateful to everyone who has trusted us with their energy, their stories, their hugs, and their vulnerability. We thank you for sharing your special moments and encourage you to keep seeking opportunities to explore beyond your self-imposed boundaries and truly learn what your amazing self is capable of.

You.

The Power of Three

I am so grateful to have grown up with two sisters. The power of three was instilled within me from birth. Three sisters. Three hearts. Three ideas. Three perspectives. Even with my oldest sister’s passing, the strength and vitality that comes with the number three continues to resonate.

The angel number 333, which is considered a powerful symbol of 1) divine guidance, 2) protection, and 3) positive change, visits me regularly through my life. I truly believe that with divine guidance from the Universe, God, Buddha, or any other celestial higher power, we are protected in a way that promotes positive change. We are lead to where we are supposed to be.

But, what do we do when we feel like we are unsure? When we may feel anxious? When our thoughts are reeling? When being right where we are supposed to be is challenging?

Come back to The Power of Three.

In my most recent grief therapy session, I was reminded of how our brains work. It’s harder to fall down the rabbit hole of spinning thoughts when we are focused and attentive in the present moment. Therefore, one of the best ways to get grounded is to think of three. Three things you are seeing in the current moment. Three things you hear. Three things you are feeling right then. Say them out loud. Let them resonate. If you need to repeat the exercise, do so. Even if the safest thing you are feeling is the tag on your shirt behind your neck, feel that. Step away from looping thoughts and step into the Power of Three. Take ownership of your thoughts and be in the present moment.

When we pair intentional thoughts with cleansing breaths, we open ourselves up to growth and limitless possibility.

Resharing some favorites…

Perhaps it is you who needs to hear this today?!💗💕♾️

Once you have created space between what or who has been causing your spirit to writhe, settle into this space of safety. There is no doubt you may feel uncomfortable. Perhaps you are experiencing feelings of grief, loss, or heartbreak as you learn to establish a new normal. That’s okay. Feel all the feelings.

Acknowledge the feelings that bubble up for you. Let them cleanse your heart and soul. As time moves forward and courage builds, you will realize the importance of the distance you have created. If it is from those who don’t understand your journey or transformation, treat them with loving kindness, for they may not have the capacity to understand as they are clouded by their own personal turmoil.

You’ve already done the work or are doing it now, don’t look back. Stay the path and keep your distance. It doesn’t mean you don’t care or have forgotten, it simply means you are learning how to protect your boundaries. Keep your distance.
