💛 Drop-in | Pay-What-You-Can

Slow down, get creative, and welcome the new year with kindness toward yourself. We’ll offer gentle, reflective art prompts you can drop into at your own pace.

Prompts include:
• Creating a permission slip for yourself in 2026
• Making an award to pause and celebrate something from 2025
• Designing a thank-you card for yourself
• Creating a self-compassion punch card for the year ahead

Come for a few minutes or stay awhile. This is a cozy, low-pressure space to reflect, create, and care for yourself.

The winter solstice reminds us that rest is not a failure, it’s a season.

This time of year asks us to slow down, turn inward, and allow darkness to be restorative rather than something to push through. Lower energy, fewer plans, and quieter days are not signs you’re falling behind.. they’re often signs you’re listening.

If it feels supportive, try a gentle check-in through journaling or art-making (no goals, no pressure to make something “good”):

Journaling prompts:
•What am I ready to rest from?
•What supported me through the last season?
•What do I want less of this winter?

Art prompts:
•Create an image using only dark or muted colors
•Draw or collage what “rest” looks like in your body
•Let your hands move without a plan — slow, repetitive marks are welcome (like needle felting popcorn!)

There’s no right way to do this. Showing up quietly counts.

What would rest look like if you honored this season?

If one of your hopes for the new year is to learn a new hobby, slow down a little, or carve out time to make something with your hands… I’d love to invite you to join me for Learn to Weave on a Frame Loom at The Woven Path Community Studio. 🧵✨

We still have a few spots open!
This 4-week class (Saturdays in January) is perfect for any level of weaver: from total beginners to folks who’ve been weaving for years and want to learn some new techniques. Ages 16+ are welcome.

And one of my favorite parts?
After each class, our neighbor Kimmie at Snow Day Fibers () are hosting a free Fiber Circle, open to all fiber artists. It’s such a cozy, supportive way to make art in community.

If you’re craving creativity, connection, or just something gentle to look forward to in January, I’d love to have you there. 💛

Spending the afternoon in the studio getting everything ready for our upcoming December First Friday Art Walk in Ishpeming!

It was so nice to take one last look through Carrie’s amazing moss art before we hang the new pieces. 🌿

This month is a community show, and the walls will be filled with all kinds of art.. watercolor, weaving, polymer clay, 3D printed pieces, drawings, and mixed media. And so far we have 11 artists participating!!! There’s so much creativity packed into these small works! The last day to join the show is 12/2 (check out the link in my bio)

Join us on 12/5 from 5:30pm-8pm for a cozy evening of local art and community.
I’m so looking forward to all the future art programs that will unfold in this space. ✨
