Friendship Manor at UCSB

Hi everyone!

I'm sure everyone is curious about the situation regarding volunteering at Friendship Manor. As of now, the current COVID-19 situation has not gotten better enough to start allowing volunteers onto the property. So unfortunately, volunteering will most likely not be a possibility for the Fall Quarter. However, we are trying to see if online opportunities are a viable option should any UCSB student still wants to get involved with us.

Thanks so much for your patience, we know it's been quite a difficult time for everyone. Hopefully the situation gets better in the coming year, but in the meantime, stay healthy and happy!

URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Friendship Manor has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation here in the Santa Barbara area. While no case has been officially reported, we have decided to CEASE ALL VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES EFFECTIVE TODAY. Additionally, all volunteer activities for the Spring Quarter (including our April dance) will be cancelled until further notice.

We thank all the students and community members for their time spent with the residents of Friendship Manor, and we urge everyone to stay vigilant and take appropriate precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

Wash your hands and notify appropriate personnel should you suspect that you carry symptoms of the virus.

We hope all students affected by this sudden change stay healthy and calm during this rapidly changing situation.

Happy New Year's everyone! I hope everyone had a relaxing winter break! With Winter Quarter starting, I have released the new Meal Serving sheet for the 2020 Winter Quarter! I have attached the link to sign up to volunteer below. Throughout the quarter, I will also be adding smaller events that y'all can volunteer in, but space would be limited.

Remember: only three people per meal, and this sheet will be constantly monitored! Please do not remove other people's names who have already signed up.

ALSO: don't forget that you get a free meal at the end of your shift!

Thanks to everyone who came out to our Halloween Dance! Thanks to UCSB’s Students with Health for funding the band and UCSB’s Delta Gamma for providing refreshments! We hope everyone had lots of fun and it was a great turnout with so many fun costumes. See everyone next time!
