Every single person in that room had a first class.

One of my favorite moments in the studio is watching someone take their first class.

You can almost see the thoughts happening in real time:

“Why is it so hot?”
“Everyone else looks like they know what they’re doing.”
“Did I just make a mistake?”

And then somewhere around halfway through class… something shifts.

They realize they can do hard things.

That moment never gets old.

People think they come to yoga to get flexible.

A nervous system.

The shaking legs.
The moment you want to come out early.

We think the goal is to escape discomfort.

Yoga teaches us to stay.

Not to suffer.
Not to push recklessly.
But to witness what happens when we don’t immediately run.

Your mind will say:
“This is too much.”
“I can’t.”
“Everyone else is stronger.”

Stay anyway.

Because on the other side of that urge to quit?
Confidence.

Every time you breathe through something hard, you rewrite the story about what you can handle.
