Karin Nealon graduated with honors in a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Long Island University. After spending a few years in molecular research she was awarded a United States Fulbright Scholarship to study in Australia. Upon her return she continued in research and transitioned into the clinical healthcare realm, working in both a hospital emergency room and cardiology department. Karin became discouraged with the way Western medicine tends to focus on managing disease rather than promoting wellness. Determined to blend the sciences of Western Medicine with the holistic approach of Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Karin decided to return to school to become a chiropractic physician. She had both her wonderful children while finishing her graduate education at Western States Chiropractic College. Although this provided extra challenges, it changed her direction of interest to include infants and women. It also further developed her passion for nutrition and healthy eating, especially in regard to children. After graduating with a Doctor of Chiropractic, Karin spent her first two years practicing with Amy Watson, DC at Whole Mama ~ Whole Child before starting her own practice. She incorporates her strong medical background to complement the manual therapy techniques of joint manipulation, soft tissue work, and craniosacral therapy. Additionally she specializes in pelvic floor health and rehabilitation for women. She believes that all women deserve the quality of life that most of Western medicine does not address.

Dr Karin is on medical leave until August 15. When she returns, only babies, kids, and adult craniosacral therapy will be the services offered at that time until further notice.

Craniosacral therapy appears to be effective and safe for infantile colic by reducing the number of crying hours, the colic severity and increasing the total hours of sleep.

They have so little time to look at everything. I am so thankful I have the time to look at the details.

Human babies are different than cow babies

If you are a primary care doctor and you are focusing only on infant weight gain, and you ignore other symptoms of breast-feeding or bottlefeeding, you are doing a disservice to your families. Focusing just on the weight gain is what a farmer would do for a baby cow. Focusing on just weight gain for a human can ignore the detrimental effects of air ingestion, ni**le pain, ni**le trauma, a very fussy baby etc.

Be a doctor. Even farmers care for the welfare and quality of life for their livestock. We should do the same for babies.
