Dr. Carrie McMillin

Dr. Carrie McMillin Naturopathic physician specializing in ADHD in adults and children. Most areas of medicine--particularly ADHD-- should not have a "one size fits all" approach.

Dr. McMillin began her medical training at a traditional medical school in Detroit, but chose to switch to a naturopathic program. She graduated from Bastyr University, near Seattle, Washington and is a licensed naturopathic physician. She has an extensive medical background and aside from clinical practice she has worked in clinical research, pharmaceutical writing, laboratory medicine, and physician education. This diverse training gives her a truly integrative medical approach, pulling the best practices from both allopathic and naturopathic medicine. "As the spouse and mother of some amazing people with ADHD, I understand the day-to-day struggles of many of my patients. There is an extremely wide spectrum of treatments for ADHD and my job is to help find what works for the individual (and often the family) sitting in front of me." Dr. McMillin is accepting new patients at her Issaquah office as well as her satellite clinic in Seattle.

One thing I've always been struck by when working with my patients is how DIFFERENT ADHD can look from one person to the next! And in the same way, certain treatments may work well for one patient but not the next. I am looking forward to sharing my experience about which natural approaches are best for which ADHD presentation. Whether you are using medication or not, you will walk away with a better understanding of which interventions are more likely to offer the most support for your child. MAKE SURE TO REGISTER at the KCLS website. This will not be recorded, so you must attend the virtual presentation to get the info. Can't wait to see you there 😊

I have been considering offering a new service that combines a monthly check-in appointment along with a tailored subscription box full of helpful tools for overcoming common ADHD struggles. Of course, there will be some fun things too!. I'd love to get some feedback to see if this is something people are interested in. If you could take a second to do this super short 3 question survey I'd appreciate it! (And if you are definitely interested, this is where you sign up to get on the waitlist!)
Note: this would be for adults with ADHD in WA state.

Have you ever been reading about ADHD in order to help your kiddo and the more you read the more you think

Wait
.

This sounds like me!

Time and again women have come to me with this exact scenario.
And they also have a lot of self doubt and worry they are “making it up”
Maybe that’s because all their lives they have been told “If this was more important to you, you would be paying attention” or “You aren’t applying yourself” or “You are a hot mess”

Constantly hearing these comments makes you believe that you are struggling simply because you aren’t trying hard enough.

But what if it is actually because of how your brain is wired?

If you have wondered if you might have ADHD, it is so important to get an evaluation!
Understanding how your brain works is the most important step toward overcoming your struggles and taking control of your life.

I specialize in working with ADHD, particularly in the ways it can present differently in women
(Hint: you can have a successful career or use a planner and still have ADHD!)

If you would like to find out if ADHD is a reason for your struggles OR if you are already diagnosed with ADHD and are looking for new tools to help you feel more in control of your life, I’d love to work with you. You can find more information and request an appointment on my website www.adhdetails.com
