From the admission of the first resident seeking help many years ago today, our philosophy has always been and remains that living and rehabilitation must include caring for the mind, body and soul. 💙 Avir at Itasca – Honoring Strength and Dedication 💙

Today, we proudly celebrate our Administrator, Karen R., who marks 11 years with Avir at Itasca, though her journey here began long before that. From Housekeeping to CNA, then Nurse, Director, and now Administrator, Karen has truly done it all. Her compassion, leadership, and unwavering love for our residents have made a lasting impact on everyone in our community.

Recently, Karen began a new and challenging battle with ovarian cancer. Despite her treatments and the changes that come with it, she continues to show up with strength, grace, and dedication, leading by example and inspiring us all. 💚

We stand with you, Karen, and are honored to walk beside you through this journey. You are the heart of our home, and we’re all fighting with you. 💪💙
