DRNY wants your feedback on wheelchair repair delays in New York.
We want to know how New Yorkers are impacted by delays in getting wheelchair repairs and replacements, why it is important to make repairs faster and more routine, and how wheelchair vendors can do better.

The Lindseth Climbing Center will be hosting our next Adaptive Rock Climbing on Saturday, December 13th, from 10:30am-1:00pm at Bartels Hall.

This free event is open to members of the community with a disability, as well as their friends and caregivers.

Adaptive Rock Climbing
When: Saturday, December 13th, 10:30am-1:00pm
Where: Lindseth Climbing Center, Bartels Hall
Who: This event is open to anyone with a disability, as well as their friends and caregivers
Age limit: Climbers under 5 may have a tough time on our walls, but are welcome to join
Cost: Free, including all equipment, no experience necessary

At the Lindseth Climbing Center, we welcome people with disabilities that want to take advantage of our climbing opportunities. Climbing offers both mental and physical challenges for beginners and experts alike. Through staff support, instruction, and adaptive gear systems, we can work with the abilities that each person brings to help them achieve their climbing goals. Climbing is for anyone! At the event we will have adaptive systems available to explore, as well as dedicated staff for belaying and coaching.

Virtual Emergency Preparedness Training
Tuesday 12/2 at 2 PM on Zoom
Presented with the Tomkins County Emergency Response Department and the County Office for the Aging. This event was made possible in part with funding from AARP.

Please register to receive the zoom link. You will also be sent a reminder e-mail with the zoom link one day before the training. Attendees will be entered into a prize raffle for an emergency preparedness kit, in a backpack.

We need new board members!

FLIC’s mission is to empower all people with disabilities while creating an inclusive society through the elimination of any and all barriers … and we are seeking Board Members to join our team! 👈👈👈‼️

The Board meets on the third Thursday of each month from 5:30 – 7pm. You can join via Zoom or in person at our offices.

Board appointments are for three years. All board members are asked to participate in monthly meetings and join a committee; there are no fundraising requirements.

To qualify, you must have a …
• commitment to the mission of the organization.
• willingness to attend meetings and join a committee.
• 51% of our Board members must be people with lived experience with disability.
