I was blessed to be visiting with a resident when her mom came to take her home for Thanksgiving . Holidays are a truly special time to celebrate with loved ones and cherish the joy of family and friends. TCLC residents, families and staff are one big special family.
Pictured are MRS. Rosa and MS. Jody wanting to wish everyone at TCLC a blessed and joyful Thanksgiving.

Door decorations fun continued today. A sweet family has made adopting a door one of their annual traditions.
The doors were decorated with dogs ready for Christmas. Thank you so much to Rebecca Gray and her daughters Mary Ellis and Evelyn. Ms. Holley, a resident, said I love dogs.

I'd love to share a highlight from our evening activity. Tonight, I recreated one of my favorite childhood treats, toasted ritz crackers with peanut butter and Marshmallows . As I prepared the treats, I asked the residents how many had enjoyed them as a child. A few of the residents had, but none of the staff had. Some of the residents had made them for their own children. The conversation that followed was heartwarming, with residents and staff alike sharing their favorite childhood treats, and one conversation led to another, and then they were discussing their favorite toys as a child. After the treats were handed out, one resident had eaten three of the treats and motioned for the nurse to come over; the resident, very serious, said, "I think I need more." And more is what she got. It was a wonderful evening of reminiscing. These treats may have been messy, but they were absolutely delicious. 😊 Activity staff passed the treats out in the hallway and from room to room so all the residents and staff could enjoy them.
We would like to hear from you: share with us one of your favorite childhood treats.
A few pictures of the activity.

This afternoon was truly a heartfelt celebration. We had the privilege of hosting a Veteran’s recognition and pinning ceremony with Gentiva Hospice. Our Veterans Day event was very special .. Bro Roger Wood, a Veteran himself, shared his thoughts about the sacrifices of Veterans and spoke from the heart. He beautifully recounted the history of the first Veterans Day, highlighting various wars and even referencing Abraham’s battle in the Bible. This was followed by a touching poem read by Brandon Perkins, also from Gentiva Hospice. The pinning ceremony and presentation of certificates were meaningful to all in attendance. TCLC would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all Veterans for their service.
