We at TCLC are experiencing internet issues due to the weather, unfortunately our phone system is connected in with our internet service to the facility. We want to assure everyone that all of the residents are fine and well taken care of, the staff have put in tiresome hours making sure the residents needs are met. Any family members are welcome to reach out to any of our staff members or on messenger if needed to inquire about your loved one. We are all thankful that the storm has passed and our residents are safe and warm. Our IT team is aware and in the process of getting us back up and running hopefully by the morning. We pray everyone stays safe and warm in the days to come.

Tonight, as I was leaving work, I heard a staff member hollering at me, pointing at another staff member, saying look we are twinning tonight. They had on purple shirts under their blue uniforms, of course to stay warm on this cold wintery night. I had to get their picture.
Having fun while you work makes it all worth while.
These two staff members like so many of our TCLC staff members loves to joke around with each other and with the residents .

TCLC wishes everyone a warm happy week. Winter is here, stay warm.

On January 15th, we celebrated the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. During the morning activity, Terri Clark Activity staff discussed facts about Dr. King and allowed the residents to share their thoughts. In the afternoon activity, we served hot chocolate during an interesting game of trivia about Dr. Martin Luther King.

Last week, the S. N.O.W.S. Club started back with renewed enthusiasm. Following a brief holiday break we started back full force. Our first meeting featured an engaging science experiment that explored how ocean animals thrive in cold temperatures. As winter has arrived, how do the mammals that remain in their habitats rather than migrating to warmer waters live in the cold freezing waters. We learned they rely on blubber, a thick layer of fat, to insulate themselves from the harsh cold. To demonstrate the effectiveness of blubber, we conducted an experiment using gloves, shortening, and ice water to compare the difference with and without this natural insulation.
We covered one hand with shortening / glove and the other hand in a glove with no shortening.

All residents put their hands in the cold water for a second. We learned the hand with shortening was warmer. We discussed different mammals and our favorite mammals. A lot of laughs were heard during the experiment .
