Today, we welcomed one of our amazing administrative assistants back to work after her recent breast cancer diagnosis, and our team showed up in pink to honor her journey and support her continued healing.

We also took time to recognize two incredible breast cancer survivors at one of our clinics. Their courage inspires us daily.

We are proud to stand together in support of those fighting and those who have overcome. 💗🎗️

🌟 We are excited to welcome Dr. Jordan Armstrong *back* to the Department of Neurology 🌟

Dr. Armstrong earned her medical degree and completed her neurology residency here at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she also served as Academic Chief Resident. She recently completed her Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Armstrong will be seeing general neurology patients and providing care in our Sleep Clinic.

Throughout her training, Dr. Armstrong has been recognized for her leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to patient care. She has received multiple honors, including the James Corbett Excellence in Neurology Award and the AAN Medical Student Excellence in Neurology Award.

We had our yearly Neurology Meet and Greet at Aplos with our amazing students with UMMC SIGN Group. It was attended by UMMC Neurology attendings, residents, and fellows discussing the various aspects of our amazing Neurology program and the opportunities provided here.
This event is always so fun and gives a broader perspective to promote Neurology as a career choice.

🧠 We are excited to welcome Dr. Syed Hussain to the Department of Neurology at UMMC, where he joins our Stroke Division as a Vascular Neurologist. 🧠

Dr. Hussain earned his medical degree from Ziauddin Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He went on to complete his neurology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Hussain then pursued further subspecialty training as a Vascular Neurology Fellow at the same institution, where he served in a junior attending role, leading inpatient stroke services and mentoring residents and medical students.

We are thrilled to have him join our team and look forward to the expertise and leadership he brings to the Stroke Division.

✨ Help us welcome Dr. Kholoud Altarazi ✨

Dr. Altarazi joined our Epilepsy Division last week and brings an impressive background in neurology and epilepsy care. She completed her Adult Epilepsy Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine and her Neurology Residency at CHI Health Creighton University. Her training also includes a Neurophysiology Fellowship at Wayne State University, a Neurology Residency at King Abdullah University Hospital, a Clinical Internship at Jarash General Hospital in Jordan, and her medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology.

We are thrilled to have her expertise on our team! Dr. Altarazi will be seeing patients at both our Colony Park South location in Ridgeland and Riverchase Medical Suites in Flowood.
