🏆 Distinguished Woman of the Year: Sarah Alley
DISTINGUISHED WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD. We had many very worthy nominees. They are judged according to their motivation, their civic leadership, business leadership, community involvement, and their demonstrated dedication to the growth and development of the community.
With a heart for service and a spirit defined by resilience, this individual has spent a lifetime investing in others—both inside and outside the classroom. A dedicated educator for two decades, she shaped the lives of countless students across multiple school systems, bringing passion, encouragement, and excellence to every grade level she taught.
In the face of a life-changing diagnosis, she chose not to step back—but to step forward in a new way. Though physical limitations altered her path, they never diminished her purpose. Instead, she has become a powerful example of perseverance, using her voice, her faith, and her intellect to uplift and inspire those around her. Through writing, teaching, and leading, she continues to impact lives in profound and meaningful ways.
Her commitment to community runs deep. From leadership roles in local organizations to creating programs that meet real needs—such as feeding the underserved, providing school supplies for children, and opening warming centers during extreme weather—her work reflects both compassion and action. She has also played a key role in initiatives that bring people together, including a long-standing annual event that raises awareness for ALS, supports research, and provides opportunities for service and connection.
Her influence extends into churches, libraries, and community spaces, where she has fostered learning, unity, and faith across generations and denominations. Whether mentoring youth, leading studies, or creating opportunities for enrichment, she consistently builds bridges and strengthens the fabric of the community.
Recognized with numerous awards for her teaching, volunteerism, and faith-driven leadership, her life is a testament to what it means to serve others with grace, courage, and unwavering hope.
Please join us in congratulating our 2026 Distinguished Woman of the Year, Sarah Alley.
