Join us on April 11, 2026 at the UMMC Pavilion (1410 East Woodrow Wilson Ave., Jackson, MS) for a FREE community cancer screening event.

This event offers free screenings for cervical, breast, oral, and lung cancer for eligible participants, along with health education and access to helpful community resources. Light refreshments will also be available.

This program is designed for uninsured and underinsured men and women who meet eligibility guidelines.

Last week, the ACT Center for To***co Treatment, Education and Research celebrated over 40 individuals who have committed to a to***co-free lifestyle during a pinning ceremony for the program’s graduates.

The Great American Smokeout is an annual event held on the third Thursday of November that encourages people to quit smoking, va**ng, or using other to***co products. It's a day to make a plan to quit, either for just 24 hours or for good. The event is sponsored by the American Cancer Society and provides resources and support to help people quit.

This event brings together experts, survivors, and advocates working to improve Mississippi’s lung cancer prevention, detection and treatment.
