Big congratulations to Kendall Pitre, a second-year medical student at UMMC and Dr. Humphries’s MSRP Full Option mentee, for presenting her research at the 89th Annual Mississippi Academy of Sciences meeting in Biloxi! 🎉👏 Her project dives into the variability and delivery of orthodontic care across ACPA-Approved teams in the U.S., shedding light on the crucial role of orthodontics in cleft palate and craniofacial care. 🦷💡 Way to go, Kendall!

Ｐａｔｉｅｎｔ Ｓｐｏｔｌｉｇｈｔ： Ａｄｅｌｙｎｎ 💐

✨ Big milestone for Adelynn! ✨ She had her cleft team visit recently and is doing great! Adelynn was born with 22q Deletion Syndrome, also known as DiGeorge Syndrome, which made speech a challenge. However, after her recent palate-lengthening surgery, her speech has improved tremendously, and she has officially graduated from speech therapy! We’re so proud of her progress! 💪💖

Thanks to our dedicated multidisciplinary team, children with craniofacial differences like Adelynn receive state-of-the-art care close to home. 💙
