Thank you Jackson Association of Neighborhoods JAN for the great article. We are very excited about the opportunities these projects bring to our community.

Skate JXN’s partnership with Midtown Partners has helped translate that energy into physical spaces. When Midtown leaders began looking for ways to address illegal dumping at the Wesley and Wightman lot, Skate JXN worked with them to design a skateable feature instead of installing a fence.

✨ Make & Move Art Café Returns – This Saturday! ✨

After an incredible first gathering, we’re back for another family-friendly creative experience in Midtown at Jax-Zen Healing Arts Center.

Join us this Saturday from 11AM–2PM for our pop-up café-style art experience — where you can “order” from a menu of hands-on creative activities and move at your own pace. Stay awhile, explore, and enjoy the process.

Choose from acrylic painting, mindful watercolor, collage, mandala drawing, woven bracelets, or a Little Makers menu for younger artists. Add a short, gentle yoga session if you’d like a moment to reset and reconnect.

All supplies are included. No prior art or yoga experience needed.

🌱 Farm 2 Community Volunteer Day 🌱

Midtown’s Farm 2 Community initiative is transforming underused land into gardens and orchards that nourish families, teach youth, and strengthen our local food system.

Join us for a morning of hands-on work in our school gardens, urban farms, and orchards. Whether you’re planting, weeding, harvesting, or learning something new, every helping hand makes a difference.

🗓 Next Volunteer Day: March 8
⏰ Time: 8:00–10:00 AM

Come grow food, community, and resilience with us. All experience levels welcome — just bring your curiosity and a willingness to dig in. 🌿

We are partnering with to give children in our community a free tree plant at home during Earth Week!

There are 3 ways to participate!

1. Register a child to receive a free tree (pick-up required)
2. Purchase a tree to plant this spring if you don’t have a child (Buy One, Fund One!)
3. Help fund trees in our community! — $5 helps place a tree in the hands of a child

🌱✨ Big news for Midtown! ✨🌱

Thanks to a grant from & , we’re turning an overgrown vacant lot into an ADA-accessible Community Urban Farm & Wellness Garden right here in the heart of Jackson’s Midtown neighborhood!

This new space will grow more than just fresh food—it will grow community care, connection, and compassion. From nature-based learning to holistic wellness programs, it will be a welcoming place where everyone—including elders and neighbors with disabilities—can gather, learn, and thrive. 💚

🌱 Volunteer with Midtown Farm 2 Community! 🌱

We’re kicking off our Volunteer Days the weekend of August 8–9 and we’d love for YOU to join us!

When: Every 2nd Saturday & Sunday
August Hours: 8–10 AM (early start to beat the heat!)
Meet at: Midtown Public Charter School – Primary School Garden
301 Adelle St, Jackson, MS 39202

From there, we’ll head out to care for our school gardens, urban farms, and orchards—growing food, community, and resilience together.

Bring: water bottle, gloves (if you have them), hat & sunscreen.
All ages welcome. No experience needed—tools provided!
