When Food Looks Too Perfect, Pause
If it looks too perfectāuniform size, flawless color, or oddly long shelf lifeāit might be better left on the shelf. Real food is supposed to spoil. Itās also supposed to nourish.
Most packaged foods come with an ingredient listāoften long, unfamiliar, and hard to pronounce. Fresh fruits and vegetables typically donāt offer the same transparency, so we end up shopping the way weāve been trained: by sight.
And thatās the problemābecause weāre naturally drawn to the prettiest produce. Weāve been conditioned to believe a flawless exterior means āhealthier,ā ācleaner,ā or ābetter.ā But science and modern processing can influence how produce looks and how long it lastsāsometimes prioritizing appearance and shelf life over what really matters.
š
The truth? What we eat directly affects how we feelāfrom inflammation in our joints to how quickly we recover from spinal or musculoskeletal conditions. The cleaner the fuel, the faster the repair.
