The Mississippi Funeral Directors Association extends its heartfelt condolences to Bobby Maskew and family on the loss of his mother, Gracie Mae Ratcliff, age 90. Bobby is a former employee of Moore Funeral Home, and our thoughts are with him and his loved ones during this difficult time.

Gracie Mae was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was her greatest joy. Her life was guided by a strong and faithful spirit, and her legacy of love, strength, and faith will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home in Moselle, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service.

MFDA looks forward to seeing you there!

We are gearing up to have a great Expo of the South this year!!! Please let all funeral professionals know about the Expo in Mississippi or surrounding states.

It is a great way for owners as well as employees to get to experience what some of the large conventions are like without the expense of out of state conventions.

Due to the weather and the impact it has had on the northern half of the state, we unfortunately have to postpone the MFDA Winter Seminar scheduled for February 1–2.

If you’ve already made hotel reservations, please call the hotel or cancel online. There will be no penalty for canceling.

We are already working on a new date and will share that information very soon.

We are praying for and thinking of everyone affected by this storm. If MFDA can be of any assistance during this time, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

We had 15 people attend our Northern District Meeting at Georgia Blue in Southaven. Our speakers, Mark and Madison, from the Veteran's Cemetery presented us with some very informative information on veteran burials. We raised $185.00 from the 50/50 raffle and Chad Garner from Ambulance and Coach Sales had the winning ticket. He donated his winnings back to the foundation! We had Maddyx McNatt from Magnolia Funeral Home attend for the first time. Best wishes to her as she completes her mortuary science degree.

We want to thank our sponsors, Peebles Mortuary Service and Wilbert Vault Co. for sponsoring the event.
