Kentucky River Medical Center is expanding occupational therapy services! Neuroadaptive occupational therapy intensives are now available with Kristina Miller-Gibson, OTD, OTR/L. Space is limited.

What are Neuroadaptive occupational therapy intensives? Neuroadaptive occupational therapy intensives for autism spectrum disorders are high-frequency, short-term, specialized therapy sessions that last approximately 2 hours daily, for 5 days. These neuro-intensives are designed to promote neuroplasticity and rapid skill acquisition. Neuroadaptive occupational therapy intensives target sensory processing, motor skills, and daily living activities for children with neurological impairments, aiming to overcome plateaus and enhance functional independence through concentrated, repetitive, and individualized intervention.
The Neuro-based approach utilizes neuro-developmental strategies and techniques such as photo biomodulation (low level laser therapy), and other specialized equipment.
Neuroadaptive occupational therapy intensives focus on:
• heavily emphasize sensory integration
• motor coordination
• reflex integration
• oral motor development using multisensory techniques
for children with autism spectrum disorders and other neurological disorders.

Some benefits may include:
• shorter times to see improvement
• brain stimulation to rewire, promoting faster, longer-lasting skill retention

Questions or to inquire about a session, call 606-666-6413.

At Kentucky River Medical Center, values are important in our mission to improve health in the communities we serve.

Our culture is marked by how we live our values, including:

We Do the Right Thing:
How we work is just as important as our work. We give our best every day, guided by our code of conduct and a commitment to safety, quality, and integrity.

Results Start with Me:
We believe the biggest impacts can come from the smallest kindnesses. Each of us is responsible and takes action to address needs in a spirit of service.

Deliver Excellence, Together:
We are focused on delivering excellent results, knowing this only happens when we do it together. We learn continuously, collaborate openly, and hold ourselves accountable for results.

Awards are given each Quarter to three team members who have excelled in these values.
Quarter 1 “Values Award” Winners are:

Kim Boggs, Marketing Director-“We do the Right Thing”:
Kim always asks questions to ensure the right, safe procedures are being performed for patients. She goes above and beyond, doing the right thing even when no one is watching. She represents our organization and helps others when needed, and even when not asked.

Chrystal Rife, Quality Assurance-“Results Start With Me"-Patient Experience:
During a difficult experience, Chrystal supported family members in the waiting room. She was reassuring, thoughtful, and compassionate. She assisted the family with calls and planning next steps.

Angie Noble, HIM-"Deliver Excellence, Together"-Safety:
Angie is a team player who communicates effectively with other departments. She recognized a situation that needed to be corrected and followed through to see that each department had the correct information.

Congratulations, Kim, Chrystal, and Angie! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to patients, families, and the community.
