If you know me at all, you’ve heard me talk about the MIND diet to prevent Alzheimer’s since the original study came out in 2015.

😊Eating this way may reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s by 53%, adding 7.5 years to the brain’s longevity.

🤯But did you also know that closely following the MIND guidelines has additional perks?

🗓️Delays Parkinson’s up to 7.4 years in men and up to 17.4 years in women in the 2019 J of Nutrition, Health, and Aging study.
👀Reduces the risk of open-angle glaucoma by 30 to 50%
📈Lengthens lifespan, reducing the risk of dying from any cause by 37%
📉May reduce the risk of breast cancer, especially in postmenopausal women whose weight fell in the normal range.

💡 MIND diet was created by Dr. Martha Clare Morris and her colleagues at Rush University. ➡️to see Dr. Morris and me shortly after her book Diet for the MIND was released.

Martha Clare is no longer with us, but I think she’d be absolutely delighted to see Oprah Daily raising awareness about the benefits of this MIND-protective way of eating.
