Let's unwrap mental health during the holidays. The holidays can be joyful, but they can also be stressful, isolating, or overwhelming, especially for people living with disabilities or mental health conditions.
If you’re feeling low this season, you’re not alone. The “winter blues” are real, and it’s okay to slow down and take care of yourself. A few ways to care for your mental health this winter:
• Keep a regular routine — meals, sleep, and movement can help keep mood steady.
• Get some sunlight or spend a few minutes outdoors each day.
• Stay connected. Reach out to friends, family, or neighbors who might also be struggling.
• Don’t hesitate to ask for help. Support is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Checking in on others can make a big difference, too. A simple message or call can mean the world to someone who feels alone during the holidays.
If you or someone you know needs help, the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is available 24/7 by calling or texting 988. Let’s take care of ourselves — and each other — this season. 💙
