🌸 The Positive Living Group Proudly Celebrates National Women’s Month 🌸

Today we proudly honor Wendolyn Miller, a devoted leader, advocate, and servant of the community whose passion and purpose truly reflect the spirit of National Women’s Month.

Wendolyn Miller currently serves as the Director of Foster Care for Greystone Foster Care in West Tennessee. With a Master’s degree in Human Services specializing in Counseling Studies, she is deeply committed to supporting children, youth, and families, and believes strongly in the power of community to change lives.

A proud product of the Jackson-Madison County School System, Wendolyn is a graduate of Jackson Central-Merry High School. She went on to attend Lane College, where she earned her degree while raising her two sons as a single mother—an experience that shaped her strength, resilience, and heart for others facing life’s challenges.

Wendolyn’s work is more than a career—it is her calling. Each day, she pours into the lives of children and families by recruiting and supporting foster parents and advocating for safe, stable, and loving homes for youth across West Tennessee. Her impact is felt not only in the work she does, but in the lives she touches along the way.

Above all, Wendolyn is a proud mother of three and a loving grandmother. Her family is her why—the driving force behind her dedication, compassion, and continued service. She is also an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, where she remains committed to uplifting and serving her community.

Wendolyn’s journey is one of faith, perseverance, and purpose. She continues to inspire others by leading with love, serving with intention, and making a difference wherever she goes.

🌸 The Positive Living Group Proudly Celebrates National Women’s Month 🌸

Today we proudly honor Cindy Burden, a woman whose dedication to service, faith, family, and community truly represents the spirit of National Women’s Month.

Cindy Burden is a dedicated therapist at The Positive Living Group and serves as a Crisis Intervention Specialist II for the National Su***de Prevention Crisis Line. A graduate of Union University and the University of Phoenix, she has spent more than 20 years serving individuals facing mental health challenges and crisis situations.

Cindy is deeply devoted to God and her family. She has been happily married for 18 years and is a proud mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Cindy is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Her favorite quote is, “Don’t try, do,” a reminder to fully commit to action without leaving room for doubt or excuses.

🌸 Celebrating Strength, Leadership, and Excellence 🌸

During National Women’s Month, The Positive Living Group proudly celebrates

Denise Shead

In June 2020, with a heart for service and a passion for community, Denise Shead launched Homeless Essentials Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to restore dignity by meeting the basic needs of individuals experiencing homelessness.

Her organization provides hygiene resources and outreach support for vulnerable populations in Jackson, TN. Her work focuses on ensuring that people experiencing homelessness have access to essential items such as hygiene kits that promote health, dignity, and hope.

In addition to leading this mission-driven organization, Denise serves as an educator, minister, and community advocate, using her voice to raise awareness and mobilize support for those often overlooked. Through partnerships, outreach initiatives, and grassroots efforts, she continues to expand opportunities to serve individuals and families in need through a portable handwashing station and a mobile shower unit, which will be launched in the upcoming months.

Denise’s leadership reflects the power of compassion in action. Her commitment to service embodies the spirit of National Women’s Month—uplifting communities, inspiring others, and making lasting change.

In addition to her leadership with Homeless Essentials Inc., Denise is also a wife, mother, and grandmother who faithfully serves at Destiny Church International, where Apostle Danny and Dr. Rhonda Pettigrew are senior pastors. Moreover, she is a published author and financial literacy professional.

Denise is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Theta Eta Omega Chapter in Humboldt, TN.
