Meet the Staff: Julia Gray, BSW, our new Birth/Expectant Mother Advocate and Home Study Specialist! ❤

Here is a little more from Julia:
"I heard about Birth Choice’s new adoption agency in fall of last year and knew immediately I wanted to be involved in any way possible. At the time, I was able to volunteer while finishing my undergraduate social work degree at Union. Not long before graduation, I was offered a job in the agency. I took time to pray about it, learn more about the mission of the agency, and experienced peace that I felt was confirmation from God.

"My desire to work in adoption stems from my own ties to adoption through my three younger siblings. I am thankful that their birth mothers chose life for them by making an adoption plan; and thankful for my parents, who said yes to God’s plan and welcomed each child into our home with open arms and hearts. My mom and dad are models of courage and compassion; I reflect and marvel at their patience and selflessness in raising a family of seven children. My family inspires me every day to be a better sister, daughter, and Christian woman.

"For these reasons, I am humbled to have the opportunity to work in the dual role of Birth/Expectant Mother Advocate and Home Study Specialist. In this role, I will be able to assist on all sides of the adoption triad: Offering resources and supporting expectant/birth mothers through their pregnancy as well as preforming home studies with perspective families. I am incredibly grateful to walk alongside each individual as they follow God’s unique design for their life. My goal is to meet each client where they are, to serve them with empathy and integrity, and to remind them of their inherent worth as image bearers of God."

MOBILE SPOTLIGHT: Somerville, TN location! We park at the Food Rite on Wednesdays from 10 AM to 4 PM. Fun fact: we have a total of eight mobile locations in West TN. Will you share this post so we can get the word out about our need for volunteer advocates?

We showed these fetal models to one of our abortion-minded clients a couple weeks ago, and they astounded her! Read the story below 👇 They are seven weeks past conception and 12 weeks past conception, respectively.

The following story was written by one of our advocates during our first week open in January:

"To see this client’s change of heart was such a miracle! She repeatedly said, 'I’m all I have,' and 'I am pro-choice' in the beginning of the appointment. After the nurse left, the client was weepy, so I prayed over her. As we were going through [the information on her options], she was quiet. When I gave her the fetal model, she kept looking at it and saying, '12 weeks? A real baby?' I had her read the card for [the seven-week model] and she said, 'it has a heartbeat? Wow!' The look of wonder on her face was priceless.

"When I asked her where she felt she was on the abortion scale, she shook her head. She said, 'I can’t. I feel so much peace just coming here. I don’t feel alone anymore. I know I can do this and that [the father of the baby] will be there for me also.' We were both crying. I again told her how much the Lord loves her and this baby and has a good plan for each of them."

We encourage everyone to text LIFE to 67742 (or click the link below) and sign the petition to protect women and babies from the dangerous abortion pills! You can do this in less than a minute!

This petition is from the Family Research Council, and it is meant to encourage President Trump's administration to restore and strengthen FDA safety standards for the abortion drugs and reinstate "enforcement of the Comstock Act to prohibit the interstate shipment of abortion-inducing drugs."

If the president acts on this petition, it would save countless lives. Women would only be able to obtain prescriptions for the abortion drugs from a licensed physician in person, and ultrasounds to confirm pregnancy and gestational age would be mandatory. The gestational limit for taking the abortion pills would be reduced to seven weeks, versus the current 10-week limit.

By upholding pro-life laws in pro-life states like Tennessee, it would be much harder to order the pills online, which currently can be done in a matter of minutes. Making these dangerous abortion medications harder to access could drastically reduce the amount of at-home abortions that put children and women's health at risk.

Although this day began in tragedy 53 years ago, we choose to celebrate LIFE instead of death. We also choose to commemorate the precious lives lost to abortion.

On January 22nd, 1973, the Supreme Court of the U.S. made abortion legal nationwide with their ruling on the Roe v. Wade case. Although it was overturned in 2022, abortion continues to end the lives of over one million babies each year. Will you pray for the state of our nation and that lives will be protected?
