Congratulations to all of those who found out they have matched! And best of luck to all of those who are preparing to SOAP. Great things lie ahead. You have already accomplished so much on this journey.

Dr. Jasmine Ware presented earlier this month at grand rounds on the roots of distrust. What great timing with Black History Month! Dr. Ware is not only a fantastic doctor but amazing role model to our patients (and co residents!!). She is a fierce advocate and cares so deeply for our children. We are so proud to call her ours and for her presentation.

The UMMC Triage Line has been set up for calls from patients. The telephone number is 601-815-0000. For medical emergencies, call 911.

Requests for time-sensitive needs, such as medication refills or postoperative care visits, will be prioritized.

What to expect when you call

Please speak clearly when prompted to provide your name, callback number, date of birth, who you are trying to reach and your reason for calling. People calling for prescription refills should have on hand the medication name and dosage, plus the name, address and telephone number of their pharmacy.

About the call back

Messages will be routed to the appropriate person for a return phone call, in as timely a manner as possible. Please be aware your return call may be from a non-UMMC number. Return calls may be delayed as we anticipate a high volume of calls daily from across the state.

Please do not call multiple times. Repeated calls will slow our ability to respond.

We apologize for this interruption of our services. Teams are working around the clock to restore full operations and help as many people as quickly as we possibly can.

Mississippi teens are experiencing rising rates of depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder, and demand for specialized care continues to grow. Children’s of Mississippi has opened a new adolescent acute psychiatric unit designed specifically for patients ages 13 to 17, filling a long-standing gap in inpatient services.
