Each Friday, Case Management is held during morning conference. This is a time for two residents- usually an intern and an upper level- to work through a case presented by an attending or fellow. The residents are on the “hot seat” meaning they are asking questions for HPI, coming up with a differential, and working up a patient through different diagnostic tools.
Today, Dr. Bishop, one of our wonderful pediatric gastroenterologists, presented a case on an adolescent female with abdominal pain and emesis associated with her cycle. Dr. Armand and Dr. White worked through the case having already prepared a differential landing on the diagnosis of cyclic vomiting fling in the subtype of catamenial. This was followed by a great discussion on CVS diagnosis and treatment. Great work, ladies!
