TYFS functions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.

TYFS, an independent private non-profit organization, TYFS is the umbrella organization for three entities in our community: Van Vleck House Group Home and Crisis Center; Red Top Meadows Residential Treatment Center; and Hirschfield Center for Children OUR VALUES

Throughout our organization, we believe in:
-Caring for the vulnerable
-Creating an environment that is physically and emotionally safe and fosters growth and healthy change
-Acceptance, kindness, dignity, respect, and non-judgment
-Values that create an environment for risk taking, knowing that any attempt at change is a risk
-Providing the opportunities for youth and families to maximize potential
-Providing the opportunity for youth and families to experience supportive relationships, to learn about healthy relationships. OUR HISTORY

TYFS, an independent private non-profit organization, has been serving children and families in Teton County and beyond since 1977, when Van Vleck House first opened its doors as a drop-in center for teens. TYFS is now the umbrella organization for three entities that are crucial to child welfare in our community and state: Van Vleck House, which includes a Group Home and Crisis Center and Court Diversion Services; Red Top Meadows, which provides residential treatment and wilderness programs for adolescent males; and the Hirschfield Center for Children which provides programs for families and children as well as forensic interviews for children subject to neglect and/or abuse.

72-hour holding room for families to work with clinicians to make a safety plan around a suicidal youth–

Our Crisis Shelter provides placements for youth 10–18 in crisis—whether facing homelessness, abuse, family conflict, or legal challenges. With 5 crisis beds available, 90% of youth return home after an average 23-day stay. Most kids in our 72-hour Safe Room only stay 24–36 hours before moving to a crisis bed, receiving immediate, community-based support close to home.
